Hey everyone! I've finally got round to capturing the race if anybody's still interested! I've divided it into three 100Mb files, so you'll need to RAR them... PART ONE PART TWO PART THREE As you can see, the event was a great success for the charities involved (mainly BLISS) so Thruxton will once again host the race this summer. It has been organised toby _Alex_ - Off-Topic
Thanks for the welcome, guys! Lots more familiar names now amongst the sea of new ones (everyone else is like "who the hell is Alex?" ) I haven't seen the race yet because I don't have Motors TV (somebody recorded it for me last night) but apparently they did a good job of it which is a relief after ITV's crummy efforts a couple of years ago. And this time I get a fewby _Alex_ - Off-Topic
... just thought I'd drop by and say hi. Hope you're all well. Good to see some familiar names still around! Vader, LS, Morbid, etc, the old guard Actually there is a reason I'm ending my posting drought! Some of you may remember -this- and how ITV did an abominably shoddy job with the footage (four minutes for a three hour endurance race!). Well, Celebrity Kart Challenge nuby _Alex_ - Off-Topic
Missing Murray? Check out my website! Remember, LS, you might have a heart attack when you open that linkby _Alex_ - F1
I'm in a similar situation to you, iceman: finding that taking Karting seriously is both too expensive and too time consuming. I'm not at Uni yet, but I'm going in 2005 with the intention of setting up (the Uni I'm going to doesn't currently enter one) and running an Inter-Uni kart team. That championship uses Club 100, so obviously the karts are supplied, but my goal isby _Alex_ - Off-Topic
Whilton Mill! Great circuit! It's also probably just about the widest kart circuit in the world. Go anywhere after driving at Whilton and it seems like you're driving around your living room... even at Thruxton! I had the impression you were from Finland... must be all the Kimi stuff!by _Alex_ - Off-Topic
Cheers, guys I do have a capture of the race, but it's 70Mb and I have no where to host it atm. Could probably send it over MSNM, Gav. but how come after such a scintillating start you ended up not winning? Every driver change we did was slow for some reason or another. I had a seat cushion in because the bolts in the seat were driving me mad ('scuse the pun!), and that didnby _Alex_ - Off-Topic
Well, there was a frustrating lack of coverage of my blistering opening stint I'm usually just outside the camera frame, especially at the start, where it follows Gareth Jones's lawn-mowing antics instead of my scintillating getaway! But I wasn't expecting too much; Speed Sunday was only interested in the celebs. I'm in a few shots, however... On the far right, blastingby _Alex_ - Off-Topic
Up in time?! That's really lame! Make sure your eyes aren't tired or you really will probably miss me! And I don't actually know why it's called "David Brabham's" event, because he failed even to turn up! As did most of the proposed celebrity drivers - Anthony Davidson was due to be there, as well as Anthony Reid (although he was probably banned for reasonsby _Alex_ - Off-Topic
Speed Sunday 17th October @ 2:15pm Vicki Butler-Henderson and Matt Smith present the final programme of the series from Estoril in Portugal, where Formula One cars from years gone by compete in the Thoroughbred Grand Prix Series. Jason Plato is in Australia for the Bathurst 1000, the 10th round of the V8 Supercars series at Mount Panorama. Plus, action from David Brabham's 'Racing foby _Alex_ - Off-Topic
cool you raced againt gary catt? Well... theoretically. I was on the track at the same time as him, put it that way. He was... ahem... quite fast. A bit too fast for my liking!by _Alex_ - Off-Topic
I expect he forced her into the tyre barrier down the startline straight, perfroming the alex chop LOL - I'm a gentleman, I would never do such a thing to a lady! Kelvin Burt, on the other hand... you may joke but he actually was on the receiving end of a bit of a naughty chop by myself. No... chop is too strong a word. I kind of squeezed him over down the back straight, and we bangedby _Alex_ - Off-Topic
damn they are some fine gridgirls You're not wrong. I was just taking a moment to wave at the camera before continuing to admire the view. I was almost disappointed when the actual race started! As those who watched Speed Sunday may have noticed, the race wasn't on. That means it will be shown on the next programme after Suzuka. I'll remind you all before then, so you can witby _Alex_ - Off-Topic
Gosh, I haven't been here for a while! I don't think I need to ask how things are; it looks like the forum is thriving! Anyway, I'm actually here for a bit of a plug, and I'm sure you guys will be interested. I competed in the Speed Sunday Kart Challenge at Thruxton today, and it's going to be televised on ITV either tomorrow or the Sunday after the Japanese Grand Prixby _Alex_ - Off-Topic
Read it, take it onboard, and then think about it Stop acting like some bloody teacher. And stop using your ridiculous pictures to do the talking. You obviously couldn't wait to get that last picture in; and I just love the way you get all excited when somebody shares your opinion. "ROFL" here, "ROFL" there. Little things amuse little minds, huh? To be honest I'by _Alex_ - F1
I'd also like to see Villeneuve in that car for a couple of races. Davidson would be great in that car, but I can't see him ending up there for any amount of time this year. He's BAR's man for the moment.by _Alex_ - F1
Last time you posted a comment several people told critisized you and told you to STFU, so think about that I must have missed that; I don't recall saying anything that would have provoked that reaction. Are you sure you're not making things up?by _Alex_ - F1
Wow! You can post a picture (that somebody else made) in response to my post. Sophisticated. My opinion is what you are on the receiving end of when you make a stupid comment. Take that on board.by _Alex_ - F1
although i'm not a ralf fan, i'm glad Ralf didn't suffer as much as it looked That's an odd thing to say... would you usually be glad that somebody (of whom you are not a fan) suffered after a crash?by _Alex_ - F1
yeah, but the ammount of respect the racing world would have given him would far out weigh the bollocking he would get at ferrari Yeah, that pretty much sums up your attitude towards Schumacherby _Alex_ - F1
Murray would be far too biased towards Michael Schumacher! So I guess some of you cynics wouldn't think there'd be much change, thenby _Alex_ - F1
Andy, you really are stuck in the eighties (although you seem to have progressed slightly into the early nineties too). I'm not talking about Prost, Mansell and Piquet. I don't think I even mentioned Senna. I'll have to take your word for it that these guys could consistently pull off the same kinds of victories that Schumacher can - all I know about their driving styles is from whby _Alex_ - F1
isnt the only one to do that though alex, id say a lot of drivers cam, id also say its one of the most overhyped part of his driving! LOL - I respect your opinion and everything but it is the part of his driving that often wins a Grand Prix. Call that over-hyped if you want!by _Alex_ - F1
Webber and Alonso aren't shining this year, but I still think they're quality drivers. Webber is a very intelligent driver, as well as being fast. During 2003 it seemed as though he had that Schumacher-esque ability to reserve a certain amount of his concentration for other factors, enhancing his race craft. He made intelligent decisions with tyres and things like that. Similarly, I doby _Alex_ - F1
Michael is probably the dullest champion F1 has ever ever seen I don't know how you can say that. You know he can race. Look at Indianapolis 2000. He had everything to lose in those opening few laps, and he even knew that Coulthard had a penalty. He could have waited a couple of laps for the McLaren to pull off, but he risked passing Coulthard, and did so in one of the finest overtaking mby _Alex_ - F1
You can always rely on Zcott to make an intelligent post. Couldn't agree more with it. people that belittle the hill and villeneuve's wins with the comment "my granny could have won in that car" yet why do we never hear this come up especially in the last few years when the same could be said of the ferrari... I think you're mistaking their intentions. If I ever makby _Alex_ - F1
my guess is this.. rubens was threatining michael and so he slowed as to compramise rubens race.. What an absurd comment.by _Alex_ - F1
everybody will (quite rightly) say he wasn't allowed to pass, and they'll slag ferrari even more. It's a vicious circle. Had Rubens passed, it may have been team orders...by _Alex_ - F1
he is obviously very good strategy-wise. but it is because he has michael to do the driving that he can actually employ the strategy because michael can make it work This is exactly what I was going to say in response to LS's comment. You seem to forget that it's actually Michael driving the damn car out there! I fully appreciate Ross Brawn's genius, but there comes a point wherby _Alex_ - F1
and frapp, there is no way in HELL would i class MS as the greatest talents in F1 history the fact being, he has no one to compete against, there are some good drivers around today, but no one with a good as car as him, or with the speed of him. Although you go on to talk about Schumacher's early career, my feeling here is that you probably only started watching F1 in about 2001. And if yby _Alex_ - F1
