For God's sake he wasn't motionless. He immediately raised his hand when asked over the radio by the crew to do so. He even tried to get out of the car himself. Why do all of you keep saying he was motionless????

because he didn't get out of the car, or even try to get out (he couldn't take the wheel off) and the crash was so huge, his visor on the helmet opened when he hit the wall.

Not from what we seen. Ralfs radio was broken, he could only hear. He was unconcious for a certain ammount of time and raised his hand a good few seconds later.

Having a driver left in the car, concious or not, motionless or not is a very bad thing. The FIA need to really look at the saftey workers

They should do it like the officials at riding events when a horse can't get up again - darken the room and shot it. ;)

yeah they showed ralf moving forward, trying to get out, and his left arm was outside the car, as if he was reaching forward.

the doctor/marshall was telling him to stay still.

but it did take bloody ages for anyone to get to him.

and where is the medical centre at the track? i thought they were gonna do a parade lap or something. couldn't it have gone into the pits and taken a shorter route? i don't know the layout of the facilities at the indy track, so i apologise if they did actually take the fastest route.

I didn't see him moving, but if 10 people say that he was moving, then he probably was

although i'm not a ralf fan, i'm glad Ralf didn't suffer as much as it looked

That's an odd thing to say... would you usually be glad that somebody (of whom you are not a fan) suffered after a crash?

That ralf accident was very scary, cause all we saw on terrestrial tv was the back of the car. Hell they even told us it was Zsolt Baumgartner. (Wahey Zsolt Lighnin' by the way!!!!! What did i tell you, the man is a speedy fellow.)
Then they gave us a shot of the front, same as above, and he wasn't moving. I thought he'd been badly injured until i saw the replay, then i knew there was nothing wrong with the buggar.

And haven't the marshalls been useless this year? First at Monaco, and then at Indy when it must have taken more than 30 secs to get to the car

its been reported today that the crash was caused by a rear tyre failure/puncture, not driver error.

yeah, i read that too. But still, looking at the tyre marks Ralf had a wheel on the flat apron at the bottom
