schumachers driving style is unique on the F1 grid at the moment

apparently only Fisichella has a similar style

Schuey uses the brakes to turn the car into corners etc. he blends the brakes and throttle together

Andy, you really are stuck in the eighties (although you seem to have progressed slightly into the early nineties too). I'm not talking about Prost, Mansell and Piquet. I don't think I even mentioned Senna. I'll have to take your word for it that these guys could consistently pull off the same kinds of victories that Schumacher can - all I know about their driving styles is from what I've read and what I've learnt from old season reviews - Silverstone '87 and Suzuka '88 spring to mind as particularly stunning - but so what?

That's not the point - I'm talking about Schumacher in his era (I think it's fair to call it that - Senna and Prost had their eras after all). You're such a nostalgia freak that you can't let go of the "good old days", and you have to keep comparing Schumacher to the likes of Prost and Senna. It won't get you anywhere!

I'm comparing Schumacher to his rivals. And as long as there is somebody like you who will keep arguing against it (or keep diving into the past), I shan't tire of expressing how I think he is in another league to them.

i think _Alex_ has a point in that you cant exactly compare drivers from different eras as the sport changes. Even if we were to put all the 'great' drivers on the grid, then we would have to pick a car from an era to compare them in and surely whoever raced in that era would be the best.

schumacher has his lap dogs in the pits working everything out for him, drivers like prost, mansell, senna, had to work work with fuel mixtures, boost levels, fuel conservation, tyre concervation, optimum pitstop time, as well as winning races and beating there rivals

As much as I don't like it when MS fans say he does everything, build the car etc etc. You are basically doing the same here, only with Prost, Mansell & Senna. They had no radio links or engineers back then?

Apparently Fisi has a rather unique way of using the throttle, Hakkinen commented on it in his interview with F1 Racing, gonna go find it =]

hi again
i read some of the posted in this topic
and i want to say one thing

there is alot of u say the best of the rest is button or sato or trulli
but this wrong for a simple reason

the top team for sure is ferrari followed by bar and renault then
williams

so i can not consider sato or button as a best of the rest
coz they already have a winning car in there hands the problem is the drivers
can not convert that for a good result

so what i can consider it as the rest is sauber, jaguar, toyota, minardi, jordan

and maybe mclaren (i am not sure about this one)

so i think u have to think all over again

why just presume that is best of the rest? I assumed it was just without Michael Schumacher, more fun that way anyhoo.
