On a related note, what would you all say the best set of fictional tracks are? For me Belini's GP2 tracks are all fantastic creations (although I've only ever experienced them in their converted GP form.by Zyklef - Other Games
Note that it was 10 laps to pass him (for 4th position I think) not to lap him. Therefore, Hakkinen was going so fast he couldn't pass a Minardi.by Zyklef - F1
Thought I'd have a thread where we all pick our favourite fictional circuits from racing games over the years. They can be circuits based on real roads and areas as long as they aren't used in real-life as a race circuit, and also can be standard from the game or an addon created after release. My favourites would have to be: Bandon Park (GP2/3) - Possibly my favourite track of allby Zyklef - Other Games
Well done everyone! VTR2 was a shame, could tell on the radio feed that Rich was very pissed off.by Zyklef - Off-Topic

Ah but compare the 1980's to modern rallying: the spectators used to literally line the road in their thousands like an armco barrier as mikef1 said. These days theyby Zyklef - F1
I would imagine it's due to a high amount of drag in a concentrated area, hence why you find on the tips of F1 cars wing and also on planes (the F-16 is a good demonstration of this because it has missile pylons at the tips).by Zyklef - F1
Yeah but inefficient in the sense that they create drag in a focused area.by Zyklef - F1
Muks is right, it's the vortices that create these vapour trails, hence why it is also quite common to find them on the wingtips of fighter planes.by Zyklef - F1
Wooo, just thought I'd pop on VT Racing to see how things are going, 1st and 2nd says NRTV. Keep it up (no pressure)!by Zyklef - Off-Topic
Yeah that's a very valid point. I remember in 2003 that Sauber's Ferrari engines tended to fail quite often despite the fact they were clearly one of the most reliable engines in the back of the Ferrari. The implementation of an engine can greatly affect it's performance and reliablility.by Zyklef - F1
I'm a great lover of the Gran Turismo series but it does not have a good tyre model, even the hardest race tyres wear out in less than half an hour on most tracks. I also don't think Kazanouri has driven every car that's in the game, apparently for that reason they kinda guessed the physics for the TVR Cerbera Speed 12 and possibly a few others. With regards to the pivot-point physby Zyklef - Off-Topic
I think if there ever was a video to show just how extreme the conditions F1 components have to endure it's that!by Zyklef - F1
I'm sorry but Montoya did begin to start showing he could hold it against Kimi, especially at a point in the season where he pretty much had to help Kimi for the championship.by Zyklef - F1
They were (at least Bruno Thiry and his co-driver, not sure whether the other driver was in his car)! It's a testament to the safety of WRC cars that they weren't injured though.by Zyklef - Off-Topic
Ah, the good old Octavia, is it even damaged? On another slightly related note; does anyone remember when both of the works Octavias were hit by an overturned fire-truck on Rally Argentina in 2001(?)?by Zyklef - Off-Topic
I hate to say it, but I can't wait for ToCA Race Driver 3.by Zyklef - Other Games
I guess it has to be Ford GT40 for me too. The newer Aston Martins and TVRs are also very nice looking cars. @Dave - Are there any pics of this Ford GT race car around?by Zyklef - Off-Topic
Pretty nice car in my opinion. I think the livery would look better if we had the pre-2004 style engine covers still but it's nice and tidy.by Zyklef - F1
Bandon Park is THE best track ever, fictional or non-fictional, on any racing game ever!by Zyklef - Grand Prix 3
I believe the actual Playlife logo is upside down, not sure though. Check Benetton's website.by Zyklef - Off-Topic
1999 & 2003 were probably my favourite's. Been watching since the start of '98.by Zyklef - F1
I have to admit I'm a sucker for 100% races, the enjoyment of 90 minutes work, even just to finish is something no other game has given me.by Zyklef - Grand Prix 3
I love the orange McLaren's, although this one doesn't look as good as the MP4/13 did in orange.by Zyklef - F1
He isn't, he said he's slower in the Brabham but can make up more time in a race due to the fact he drive it more consistently than the Lotus.by Zyklef - Other Games
To answer your queries: 1) I believe NASCAR Racing 2003 was the final version of the series. 2) The general consensus on this forum (and most other places) is that the NASCAR Thunder series sucks and NASCAR Racing is far and away the better game.by Zyklef - Other Games
The V8's, V10's and V12's of 1993 were all of the same capacity, though, so the power difference between each type was less pronounced. Next year will see a 600cc drop in engine capacity so it's not really a comparable situation.by Zyklef - F1
But Paul, as they said, the pic you posted was clearly made after you originally posted. :Pby Zyklef - Off-Topic
As Gav said, it's not the track that's inaccurate on GT4, it's more the phyics and tyre physics especially. Also, on a related note, we didn't see which tyres Clarkson chose on the game. If he chose 'Sport' tyres, the default option on GT4, he will have had a performance advantage over the real car as these are meant to represent cut-slick tyres as opposed to normalby Zyklef - Off-Topic
