Makes you wonder why the demo had the Lotus in really. Probably put quite a few people off.

Hmm that made it the most fun for me though :S I am slower in every other car though if I remember, which means I should practice with the others more. Then again, the game doesn't work properly - I still get that bloody "high revs = sound spastication robotyness" thing (does anyone know how to solve?) and also there is the minor thing that my pc with it on blew up :';( I just have this laptop I am borrowing to do coursework on for temporaryness.

Kyalami is a good training track - helps you be nice and smooth :) It will be annoying at first maybe, but will help your style for it sort of cos of it's slippery nature :S

I loved the Lotus, I thought any driving issues were because of GPL :P. For VT I have the Ferrari now, can't wait to drive it one day :D

Click Start > Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices

Click advanced on speaker settings at the bottom, then click the performance tab.

Move the hardware acceleration slider down so its one notch up from the bottom (basic acceleration).

You'll loose 3D sound doing this though, so it's probably a good idea to remember to put it back when you've finished.

No, the Lotus is the fastest car, by probably 1 second on most tracks, but it's the hardest to drive too.

The Cooper is probably the easiest to drive - that thing can go into corners backwards and you'd still feel in control - great fun sliding around in it, though it's strangely a little tough to drive on the absolute limit. The Ferrari is similarly easier, though perhaps a little more forgiving when pushed.

The Ferrari also has very smooth power delivery as the power is over a wide rev range, which can help. Sometimes though, you do need belief that flooring the throttle mid corner wont cause you to spin.

Yeh, the Cooper really is a lovely car to drive. The way it effortlessly enters corners as stable as can be, really predictable. Then you can just power out of the corner in a controlled way, without getting bogged down or anything like that.

;)

Flooring it without having to think is one of the best properties of the Ferrari!

While I havn't beaten many of my absolute best lotus times since switching to the brabham, I am much faster over race distance thanks to the fact it is now easy to string consistent laps together.

If you've switched to the Brabham and find yourself quicker than you were in the Lotus you've taken the wrong approach, badly.

I mean that if you are beating your Lotus times in the Brabham, then you've done something wrong in the way you've taken up GPL. The Lotus is around 2 seconds a lap faster than the Brabham.

He isn't, he said he's slower in the Brabham but can make up more time in a race due to the fact he drive it more consistently than the Lotus.
