Considering the he lost at least 3 or 4 wins due to mechanical failure its not that bad I don't think. And it seems many people seem to forget that Montoya could have quite easily won the 2003 title if it were not for 2 of these failures. My opinion is that McLaren just isn't the right team for Montoya, way too tightly wound.by Zyklef - F1

Affinity Series Squier Strats are around £130-£140, Standard Series are around £180-£200. So I'm guessing yours is an Affinity series and hoping skel hasn't been ripped off and has a standard series.by Zyklef - Off-Topic
I bet Fisichella may improve his game in 2007, I think he performs better when he knows he's the #1 driver in the team.by Zyklef - F1
Yeah I noticed! I was like "wow, I've got 35 points, not bad. let's see how everyone else did...". Everytime I get a good score you're always one-step ahead of me. It's looking good for the second half of the season, we're all pretty close.by Zyklef - Off-Topic
Just a note for chet about the Super Touring cars: Unlike today's S2000 cars or whatever they're called, they Super Tourers had to be 4-door saloons and at least 4.2(?) metres long. Cars like the Civic and the Astra just aren't touring cars for me.by Zyklef - Other Motorsports
The thing with Plato is that he seemed a fine and competent driver until his feud with Muller for the title, before that I can't remember him being so brash and unproffesional in racing. But yeah, bring back the Super Tourers! The noise that the 2000 season Ford Mondeo made was fantastic. :Dby Zyklef - Other Motorsports
Annoyingly, if Trulli, Raikkonen and Webber had all finished I would have etched around 40 points. D'oh!by Zyklef - Off-Topic
Funny you mention that Dave because just yesterday I bought Murray's Motorsport Spectacular for £2. I miss Super Touring so much, todays cars just aren't as good to watch.by Zyklef - Other Motorsports
For once chet hit the nail right on the head there, the quality of racing in F1 far surpasses that of any motorsport I've seen in my life. I find it much more enjoyable to watch the "no passes" in F1 than GP2 or A1GP where most of the drivers don't know what they're doing. Another example is the BTCC; I used to watch it all the time when it was under the Super Touring regby Zyklef - Other Motorsports
All the people talking about Alonso being reliant on the TC are a bit close minded. a) He's probably using it because it's there, it enables him to adobt an agressive setup and be fast with it. b) He did drive in F1 before TC was introduced (including one wet GP) and I have no recollection of him spinning the car in this period. So, obviously, he isn't reliant on it to driveby Zyklef - F1

Yeah, I usually picked Alonso because it was a certain 15 or 12 points, but it meant you had to be REALLY good at picking the right drivers alongside him.by Zyklef - Off-Topic
Just looking at everyone's picks, could be really close this week. For the first time this season I haven't chosen Alonso so I'm sure he'll probably win tomorrow. :Pby Zyklef - Off-Topic
Yeah, my choices in Imola were plain stupid, but at Nurburgring I was kinda unlucky that Montoya, Ralf and Webber all dropped out.by Zyklef - Off-Topic
erm, they're both real photos. :Sby Zyklef - Grand Prix 3
Here we go: Renault - The blue and yellow combination is rather lovely, but, as Dave mentiond, the dark blue spoils it, it was much nicer in 02/03. Also, looks rather cluttered in places. McLaren - Great idea with the chrome car, in the right light it looks fantastic, red needs to be darker. Ferrari - Nice livery but I do wish they would go back to the scarlet red of old. Ah, but it's never been done with a rally car! :P I think my favourite head to head I've seen was on the pre-race show for the Donington round of the BTCC in 2000; a Mondeo touring car vs. a Mondeo ST.220 and a Fiesta.by Zyklef - F1
I have the game for PS2 and from what I remember there is a 20 car field for the IRL and the Penske cars are not included in this line-up. In my opinion the IRL is the weakest part of this game.by Zyklef - Other Games

I think this season should be really good. Bahrain looks to be quite a lottery really.by Zyklef - Off-Topic
Pre-ordered it for PS2. I've had the PS2 demo for a few weeks now and it feels so much better than ToCA RD1 at least (haven't tried RD2). It may not be the most realistic driving physics out there but the racing is sure as hell both great and fun. I can't wait for it to arrive.by Zyklef - Other Games
Well, the new F1 season is 3 weeks away so I guess it would be a good time to bring up the annual Grid Bids reminder to new folks and past players that have forgotten about it. Grid Bids is a very simple Fantasy F1 competition and we at GPG also have our own group so if you want to join us just sign up and make a request in this thread to be added to the GPG group. 1 race I believe in the 1980's, possibly at Belgium, can't quite remember.by Zyklef - F1
Personally I would have preferred single lap qualifying like in 2003, except with both laps on low fuel. I remember the parc-ferme/race fuel thing was brought in so teams could no longer use a special qualifying engine, so why did the FIA still keep this rule in despite the fact they brought in strict engine rules for 2004. I've never had a problem with single lap qualy except for the fact tby Zyklef - F1
From what I've seen most people are stupid!by Zyklef - Off-Topic
Taken from formula1.com: In the first two 15-minute sessions, cars may run any fuel load and drivers knocked out after those sessions may refuel ahead of the race. However, the top-ten drivers must begin the final 20-minute session with the fuel load on which they plan to start the race. They will be weighed before they leave the pits, and whatever fuel they use in the 20 minutes may be replacedby Zyklef - F1
I'm an Atheist and I agree with everything Muks and Vader have said. Assado, who are to judge that Muks has no life because he does not worship god and lives how he pleases? You say he has no life, but surely by choosing to believe in what he wants and live how he wishes he is the one with the life; whereas you are falling in line and believing someone elses vision (where is your proof thatby Zyklef - Off-Topic
