I think Bernie wants to make as many waves as possible - by introducing silly new rules and screwing up the existing ones - so that when he goes, as he has to before many more years, he won't be forgotten easily. This daft medals idea will do nothing to improve the amount of overtaking. Overtaking will be improved by less sensitive/complicated aerodynamics and grippier tyres, everyone knby EC83 - F1

Family Guy has always had pretty uninspired storylines, and the total overuse of cutaway sequences is poor, it's like they're just fishing for cheap laughs sometimes. But hey, if you take it at face value it's good light entertainment. I sometimes end up watching it on BBC3 at night.by EC83 - Off-Topic
Buemi is a promising driver, but still a bit inexperienced. Another season in GP2 before he graduates to F1 wouldn't be bad for him IMO. If they have chosen Buemi they'll want a more experienced driver in the other car; Sato, or Rubens if Honda are daft enough to get rid of him. Sato wouldn't be a good choice IMO. As said above, he's had more chances than some better driveby EC83 - F1
@BeamingSauber & Guimengo: According to Kelso's Wikipedia page, he'll "still be a regular" in the new series, and we'll see a more human side of him too now he's not working in the hospital any more Good stuff, keeping a true legend in the show!by EC83 - Off-Topic

I do totally miss JPM, for one reason and one reason only: the entertainment. Whatever he was doing it always got your attention, whether it was winning the race, pulling off a spectacular move on MS, spinning, getting black flagged, trying an over-optimistic move on someone and punting them off, crashing into MS behind the safety car... You always ended up talking about what he'd done durinby EC83 - F1
That's a sweet piece of commentary. He sounds passionate and into what he's seeing, but totally in control. There's none of the "OMG I'm so overcome I'm gonna cream myself" BS that characterised Allen's commentary. He sounds pretty knowledgeable as well. Best ever season of F1 commentary coming up, I think!by EC83 - F1

Sad to hear about this, hope Mark will be fine. 4 months still till Melbourne, so he should be fit in plenty of time. This challenge he imposes on himself in Tasmania is quite extreme though, maybe he should go easier on himself in future. It's not worth compromising his health for.by EC83 - F1

Hopefully this won't mean the race stays at Silverstone beyond next season. The revamp is comprehensive but it's not like they're building a whole new circuit, so they might still be able to complete it in timeby EC83 - F1
Every time the quali format seems to be popular and settled, they seem to want to mess it up. It'd be pretty hard to keep track of what's goin on, and the drivers would spend the whole session in a total frenzy.by EC83 - F1

The situation for 2009 is coming across as bittersweet at the moment. On one hand we have BBC coverage back, on the other we have the 2009 season seemingly getting screwed up before it's even started. As said above though, we'll cope with it and so will the sport. Remember the "medals" idea has to be approved by the FIA next month before it can go ahead. Hopefully it wonby EC83 - F1

Actually Niki Lauda(though not great) is the less annoying of those two IMO. He's actually in touch with what's going on to an extent, and doesn't find a way to slip ass-kissing BS about Silverstone into every single TV interview he does.by EC83 - F1
