Barrichello calls Schumacher gay...

A controversy has erupted in Brazil and Germany, as the health of the relationship between Felipe Massa and his Ferrari mentor Michael Schumacher is called into doubt.

According to the Brazilian newspaper Lance, Schumacher's former Ferrari team-mate Rubens Barrichello - after a few too many caipirinhas - leapt onto a stage at the Sao Paulo nightclub 'Disco' last Sunday night and began singing.

Reportedly, the song consisted of the puerile claim that Schumacher is 'viado' - a derogatory term meaning gay in Brazilian Portuguese.

Lance reports that Massa, an open admirer of the seven time world champion and recipient of the Ferrari advisor's guidance, initially disapproved but ultimately joined in the chorus when Barrichello threw his arm around the 2008 championship runner-up.


"That Rubens does something like this does not surprise me," Schumacher's long-time manager Willi Weber told Bild newspaper.

"But as for Felipe, I am surprised, because the two have a really good understanding with each other and are close friends."

A Ferrari spokesman, Schumacher's spokeswoman Sabine Kehm, and Schumacher himself declined to comment.

Poor Rubens still can't get out of him that Scumacher wiped the floor with him.

well to be fair in 2002 rubens had schumi beat in quite a few races. make no mistake, when the car actually suits rubens he's as fast as the next guy.

To be fair, when I saw photos of Schumacher riding a horse topless with a cowboy hat on, I thought something wasn't quite right.
And surely the leather trousers he wears are a dead giveaway.

A good driver can win the race if the car works for him. A great driver wins the race even if the car doesnt suit.

all the sites in Brazil mentioned only Rubens who did, but as it was a party in that Ferrari and Felipe were there, then someone mistranlated and got that.

Also, that song isn't actually used to call people gay. I mean, that's what it says, but in reality it's used as 'regular mockery', Rubens was just messing around and being drunk. He didn't mean it in a derogatory way. And the papers don't say Massa joined the chorus, it's probably a translation mistake.

brazilian portuguese newspapers did say that he JOINED THE CHORUS later. At least, www.warmup.com.br (brazilian) says so.

I don't like this at all, after Ayrton Senna & Fangio is Michael Schumacher the greatest of modern motorsport.

You must,not believe what all the journalists say, they only sell something like that for money...I really don't like paparazi, they are like cancer.

Rubens would never say something like that, just like Felipe, all F1 Pilots live by a code and they always keep it, whatever happens in there live.

That's to bad then!
I still don't like it... bud that is my opinion.

And by the way,I think that my fellow countryman Jacky Ickx was end still is the greatest allround motorsport pilot(F1, 24h LeMans, Dakar, etc...)
MS was the greatest in modern F1 were the cars,the pitcrew and 2nd pilot did all the work, that is what I meant to say!
