Thanks Vader for reminding that Cameditor exists But you were wrong: you can now edit the cokpit view as any other camera. You don't believe me ? Well it's even writen in the text on grandprixgames cameditor download page I added the cockpit cam when first carshapes appears, in order to be able to use the cockpit view with the new carshapes. Just have a try Note: CamEditor and alby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
I thought the same. In fact, you will only see them in external (track) cameras and i also think you have not to use GPxPatch. then just wait some time and you will see them. Another thing i never verify: you may have to activate Arcade layer too to be able to see tv overlays (i don't know as each time i tried i was using both).by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Yep, strange. Thread was at 0 before i replied and after it passed to 26. I don't understand...by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Hmm... Just tried it with GPxPatch and it worked right in free ride.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Well, your dream will come true here :by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Yep, reason why you havn't performance loss is simple: my Gridlines are not a higher res of original file but only sharper drawn one. So i agree: don't knock it until you tried itby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
A new Carset Creator is on way but there's no release date for now. Just wait and see About GPxPatch 3.20, it is NOT compatible with Patch 9.6 (GP4 1.02). Cya.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Have the same card too and an AMD 2000+. I run GP4 smooth at 1600*1200 @25fps with every details at max (with bump mapping and dynamic env. mapping but no dynamic video walls and no heat haze).by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
If you search for a GP4 FF tweaker, you can use mine which is compatible with all decrypted GP4 versions and allows you to use FF power at 127% instead of 100. It's there: Else, another FF tweaker allows you to push FF to extrem limits (maybe even to failure, beware) but i don't know if it is compatible with v1.02. It's name is GP4 tweaker but i don't know where you can findby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
I use 41.09 and just tried DX9, no much changes... seems that PO is bigger but game is still really smooth, maybe GP4 can't compute PO normally with a directX version it doesn't know...by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Yeah, Happy new year everybody and "lots of good racing" tooby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
hmm, it maybe works now with 1.02 but it wasn't with 1.00 without changing alpha values (or i didn't understand anything at those silly codes like "133"by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
it' because you can only see them in onboard but non cockpit views and the effect might not be called lens flare but fade in/out effect. You will see it in any tunnel (Monaco obviously) and it will fake a dazzle (Not too bad effect at all). Too bad that it doesn't work in cockpit view (it can be done tweaking separate alpha for cockpit and external cams but in that case, global alpha isby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
remapping is not really a matter either...i can now remap each polygon like i want (the new mapped piece of texture has just to be in the same texture file than the older). Matter is to build an editor giving everybody the ability to edit it easily and if possible graphically, and THAT is the matter now and i will try to work on it till now.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
lol, sorry Mike, I won't rewrite it simply because i was wrong, you can't change only textures names from 1st and 2nd car, you would need to change texture coordinates and that would be so long to explain how to do it correctly that an editor would be release before i finish to explain itby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Here is a good news, opposite to GP3, GP4 Car (and track) Textures can have bigger sizes than the original ones. I was already knowing it about Tracks (some of Bruno's track textures are bigger than originals) but i just tryed with Cars textures, after having work on texture for CamEditor (Yes, i have now textures in Cameditor Here is the result: Think it would be interesting to see whatby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
About changing things, i already know where is the cockpit camera, so with new carshapes it seems it could be usefull soon i add it in Cameditorby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Good, it's the same ! ffffff, i was anxious for a while, time to download yours And is Fairlight really your friend ?by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
The one i used for Cameditor is 6 275 072 bytes long. Hope it's the same.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
As you have maybe already seen in the preview pic of my first thread (wich is linked to my site , i already released New 3.3 Cameditor. New features are: - GP4 1.02 (Patch 9.6) support - Peter's special button (Manual GP4's Path button) Greetsby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
I just wish to answer to your last question about the 2 cars liveries: You have an easy way to create the both cars: Just change your personnal carshape for the 1st car and export it to the game. Then run Genius and save it as a wrl file. It's the 3d scene description but in a text format, so you just have to replace all calls to car_1.tex to car_2.tex. Save the file and then open it with Geby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
No problem Peter, i thought about you but as the week-end was finishing ( and as i was decided to release it these week-end), i decided to release the new version as is. But the Select Path button is on way About where you can download it, i added the link under my banner just below And thanks all for you encouragementsby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Sorry to post a post not speaking about the patch I just wished to tell you that i released a new CamEditor version bringing some new features and fix: - Thanks to some cooperative work ( those friends will recognise themself , Cameditor is now using the "real" GP4 carshape (a great improvement) - CamEditor might now work perfectly under Windows 98 (is anyone still using it ? :p) - blby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
no, you won't loose any graphical part added when using the decrypted original exe, so you can use the decrypted (original) exe when you want to use some editor and then use the patch to play the game with your nice graphics. Anyhow, some tools will not work as their datas are store in the exe, that's why cameditor don't work, for exemple.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Yep, you're right. Patch solved car banking (at less at Indianapolis) and tyres artifact (they look really smooth) and also the long awaiten for few of us : Audigy T-cam and rear chase cam sound fix. So they did more than they say...at less, they did it.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Hmm, a very reasonnable advice for people like me using a so slow 56K modem... Whatever, i will anyhow download it to try itby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Just another idea: Maybe the editors you are telling are searching in the registry to find where is GP4 ! I don't know how reacts other editors when the gp4 reg key is corrupted, they surely not find the game and maybe telling you it is an unknown gp4 version. All i could advice you is to download my TyreSet program which provide a function to specify or re-specify gp4 path to re-reg GP4 corby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for your reply Morbid, You were really precise like usual in your answer. Like you said, my think is that most users are not using those parameters as they change about nothing in the game. But i also think about the 2-3 hardcore tweakers which might use them and will ask me (after the next release of course) why i havn't keep them. And that's why i ask on the forum before myby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Well, here is the area (in red) i'm speaking about and that I may delete in the next Cameditor version.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Hmm, but my cam editor is out since many month ago, aren't you know ?by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
