strange ! i had only once a pbm with a tex, giving me black areas in the game, but it only appears with a 1024*1024 modified tex and i never get it later. As promised on the other post i also built a new performance editor and you will be able to grab it on my site (Just clic on my banner below).by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
As promise, i released a performance editor 1.02 (and 1.0) compliant. You can grab it clicking on my following banner. And sorry again for the not-working GP4master : /by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Sorry, but to excuse me, I'm building a performance editor for 1.02 version. It will be ready in some hours (or tomorrowby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
lol, here is the 13th zodiacal sign : the Dumass ) hehe Nice discoveryby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
BEWARE: I never thought when updating GP4master 1.02 to change anything than tex files. So any version dependant function might fail and even worst, can corrupt your GP4.exe file or f1gstate.sav file. I'm really sorry not having thinking about this side effect before !!by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
AAAaarggg !!! Just see that i did a big mistake with releasing the 1.02 GP4Master version ! I convert it to 1.02 only to be able to use tex functions as they are gp4 version independant. BUT, any version dependant function will NOT work with that version. I'm sorry, i might have say it before. When i did the change i never thought about using it for anything else than tex editing.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
I also noticed that even Cockpit wheels are modified with my tool ! incredible. I would never believe it.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Hehe, got working Just see below In fact, looking to car_collision_mesh.ct, i wasn't able to find 3d bounds for collisions, but instead, i found...wheels coordinates So i did a small new tool to be able to change them, like usual Here is what it looks like: And here is the treasure place: Just a last thing, it changes tyre positions, but not collision détections, sorryby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Yep, i'm not surprised at all. Gp4 cars part have a 3D mesh (the visible part) and a 3D "bound mesh" (invisible). So even if you change the visible 3D mesh, Game use original bounds to detect collisions. There's a file named car_colisision_mesh.ct in the cars.wad and i think we will find some appropriate answer in it, but i personnaly havn't found how to read them.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Thanks Ellis, i suppose that when you write: "Normally when you open a Wheel file in GP4, you get the rim.", you wish to say: Normally when you open a Wheel file in ZModeler, you get the rim. In fact, that's a bug with ZModeler as the files car_wheel_xxxxxx.gp4 store all parts of the tyre, but ZModeler (as Jon's genius) only display the rim. I'm working on a TyreEditorby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Sure, it's there: You have to extract given exe in your existing (v1.0) GP4Master folder.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
great! i have luck, i also found that names are 24chars long :Dby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
lol, i'm not sure it's the better way to have it, if any people have a full structure study If anyone have such a description file, I would really be pleased to see it Mine is far from complete...by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Of course welcome Syrius, sorry don't see that it was your first post. Seems I'm also concerned by take care when reading postsby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Well, in fact i was supposing it was obvious but i would have to say that the exe file need to be copy in the "classic" GP4Master folder. And that's why i didn't give the direct link but a link to my post as i clearly wrote in it how to use the file. So you need to install the original GP4master and then to copy the exe from my site in the GP4master's folder. The Direcby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Lol, it's a king a magic like some famous band was saying Rock'n roll !!! :pby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
"you cant use an editor yet as no one has made one for version 1.02." Hmm, not really, You can grab a v1.02 compliant GP4Master version here:by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Yep, i agree with RichE, you surely downloaded the 1.02 decrypted exe and original GP4Master doesn't work with it. You have to solutions: - Download the 1.0 decrypted exe - Download the 1.02 compliant GP4Master on my site here : Good luck Post Edited (02-03-03 16:09)by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Hmm, do you tried the 1.8 version ? Else, you may try Cameditor, just to see if it works and then try again TyreSet as using CamEditor sometimes fixed some bugs in the past with my other tools Else, you may have some trouble with your GP4 installation or win98 install : /by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Oh ! ok, sorry Well, for that, i have no solution for now : /by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Yep, I solved that bug in tyreSet some time ago so it's working now with the 1.8 version.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Hmm, building 3D arms will surely become possible in the future it's a matter of time. About individual wheels, if you speak about move of them, they become independent with 1.02 version (go check it And front and rear 3D tyres will become editable too in the future even the cockpit ones...nice news, no ?by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
I personnaly enable v-sync even if it might slow down a bit GP4 but at least i havn't horizontal cuts evrywhere in the game. Just look at vertical fine objects in the game (high cranes, antennas, ...) when you are turning left or right at middle speed. Without v-sinc, those elements will seems as sliced in 2 during some fractions of frames and it can be really flicky if you have sensible eyeby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
And for those who really like GP4Master afterall, I just asked Sven and he is ok for me to send you a GP4 1.02 (and only 1.02, not 1.0) compliant GP4Master. If it is interesting some of you just tell me and i will put it on my ftp for download.by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Hmm...You are right Larry, it's the right way to use GP4Master but you can also use another tool to update a wad, a tool really easier for updating only some (less than 100) files of the wad: WadUpdater. Here is the procedure: 1. create a new folder somewhere and put in it all the modified (and only the modified ones) files you wish to update in the wad (that suppose you already extractedby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
I just did the same on saturday and had the same matter, so I suppose that GP4 tweaker only works with the decrypted v1.0 exe...So your "error" might be to use 1.02v instead of v1.02 : /by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Nope, it's still not editable for the good reason i never found where are its values. All other cams are together but this one seems to be apart but i havn't find it for now... : / (and sincerely, i don't search for it every daysby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
nope, you won't be able to fix that. In fact, it's an inherent property of any 3D camera as any camera have a long (wide) value that was often too short for old games and that was causing the effect named "clipping" and a short value causing effect you just point out. In both cases, in games, those values are always used as closed from each other as possible, meaning less 3D oby Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
Hehe, if i would, he never told it to me What the hell are all those yellowish smileys !!??by Lo2k - Grand Prix 4
