DX9 and Nvidia 41.80

GP4 runs a lot smoother with DX9 and 41.80 drivers. Thats using W98SE, dont know about the W2K/XP ones.

I'm using Dx 9 and the latest drivers in ME and it runs a lot faster.

I use 41.09 and just tried DX9, no much changes...
seems that PO is bigger but game is still really smooth, maybe GP4 can't compute PO normally with a directX version it doesn't know...

Im getting an error message saying that the game needs directx 8.1 to run but i have installed 9.

Any ideas?

Can you not tell it to skip installing Direct X 8.1?

Regarding the DX9 problem: Delete the shortcut to the GP4.exe file and make a new one. Problem fixed.

So simple.....

Damn, damn damn, damn. Why do I never learn. I just spent the afternoon frigging around with that Creative piece of... Beta. Bloody beta drivers screwed up my system totally. Dx9 doesn't seem to make much difference though. I am back to good old 40.72. At least the pc works. No more black screens and freeze ups thank you.

the 41.09 drivers thought my MSI g4 was a Creative one. Go figure.
