that was a good weekend. good atmosphere and fantstic weather. had great time. race was great and the stuff going on immediately after the safety car was like watching a formula ford race at times. thought the organisation was very good this year. its clearly a transitional period for them and i think access to the arena section will be easier once the paddock is moved across to the new staby marwood82 - F1
pretty much what jim says. you could say the same about any big event, sports music festival etc. you will always see more and get a better feel for whats going on on tv and save yourself a lot of money in the process. the point of actually going there is the for intangible stuff that you can't get from sitting at home watching it. i'm talking about the atmosphere, the being paby marwood82 - F1
yeah i tend to alternate between grandstands and general entry. Silverstone is pretty good for general admission, you get some decent views. and you can sit around most of the circuit (not sure how the new section will work?) in the end, it was the dropping of the grandstand price to 190 for the weekend + them now offering their own campsite at a vaguely reasonable price which swung it.by marwood82 - F1
i'll be sat at stowe. decided to move from our usual spot as the early bird tickets were pretty cheap. also looking forward to seeing what this new 'official' circuit campsite is like.(though lets face it, it is not possible for it to be a bigger rip-off than litchlake) a spot of rain on race day could be quite nice otherwise i fear a red bull demolition like last year.by marwood82 - F1

i wouldn't have thought they'd be any bigger would they? the idea is that the overall wheel+tyre radius would be pretty much the same. the tyres would just be much thinner to compensate for the larger wheel. there was a photoshopped comparison in this weeks autosport. something along the lines of this,by marwood82 - F1
5 live were talking about this in friday practice last week. i think there was also an argument in that 18 inch rims would mean tires with less air in them. which would lessen the impact of a ban on tire warmers.by marwood82 - F1
on a side note, James Allen was doing the post race press conference last year, but did i hear right in sepang that it was being conducted by David Croft? certainly sounded like him.by marwood82 - F1

interesting, wondered what Dallara would come up with. anyone think its got its got a bit of their indycar about it, i mean in the air scoop on the engine cover and the way the nose dips at the front?by marwood82 - F1
i think its the right decision in the end. Toyota gave up their slot. you can't just give Steffan GP the place just because they happen to have their car. re-opening the applications for next season seems the best way forward. wonder if some of the unsuccessful applicants from last time around will re-apply?by marwood82 - F1

hmmm, maybe its a case of people putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. this seems to suggest that Stefan do have a deal with Dallara, however it is a deal to develop the toyota chassis that they already have. not to buy the one they've built for Campos.by marwood82 - F1

true, + i guess most of the colours are set up to appear correct on TV rather than to the naked eye. e.g i always found the red flashes on the West logo's on the mclarens to be almost fluorescent/slightly pink when you saw the car for real but they looked a much darker red on the tv.by marwood82 - F1
marcl Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > All the team need is Flavio, Nigel etc then they > will have a great team lol > lol, you do wonder how they plan to convince to the FIA to let them in when they appear to have stolen campos' car from under them, are trying to take their grid slot by force and then they hire that motley crew to run it.by marwood82 - F1
chet Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > I think the simple and clean look is just a > function of being a new team with no previous > data, and of course being only cfd. i agree with that. it makes sense to start with something uncluttered and add bits to it as you get a better understanding where you need to improve the car, rather than staby marwood82 - F1
