This is a very nice looking car and the front wing looks waaayyy more developed than the other cars. However those bargeboards are very fishy they look almos bigger than last year and the car is incredibly low on the back, Vettel had to stop today because the gearbox oil got too hot, maybe it's because the exhaust are that low??

All those imagres are distorted. Impossible to know if they were taken with the same lens and such...probably a very innacurate analysis.

Good God, that BMW appears short!

The McLaren, the Williams and the Red Bull look like the sleekest; livery-wise, for me, the Red Bull is by far the best looking.

Cool picture! :)

Trust Adrian Newey to sculpt something beautiful out of a pile of tods....

I expect to see the rear wing end-fences to be taken up after a few 1st corner contacts resulting in total rear wing removal.....

hmmm it's alright like but i don't see what all the fuss is about. don't like the nose at all, although i suppose the car will take off nicely when webber piles into the back of someone at turn 1 :P

do like the back wing though.

If the size of the tires match it is fine

The rear wings are all huuuuge... like the ones some teams ran at high downforce tracks in the mid-late 80s.
Loving the swoopy shape of the cars too - lack of winglets makes a big difference

Not even slightly. Compare the Renault and Williams to the others for instance. Completely different perspective, thus entirely useless.

tbh if its a front wing going into the back of those endplates it will be the endplates which come off better imo...

the sidepods look almost F3 like.

Also looking at the picture its nice see so much variation in the field!

but if the wheels match, then surely the rest of it does??

although the williams does look rather large..

the williams above is from the official renders released by Williams. It's the only car that is actually orthogonal would be perfect for comparison, if all the other cars were as well. They are not, they are in perspective, however roughly the same, so they can be compared. Still, one doesn't fit this comparison, which is Williams.

Yep, you can see from the rear wings that all the other cars are affected by perspective. The other pics are pretty similar in composition, mainly varying in the relative height the photos were taken at.

You won't get a fully accurate comparison pic though until there are professional renders done to scale. Still this is good for comparison of overall shape and livery!

I know it's debatable how accurate the 2009 grid comparison pic is, but i can't help but notice (according to the pic at least) that the top 3 teams from last year (Obviously Ferrari, Mclaren, BMW) all have by far the shortest wheelbases of the 2009 grid.....

Do they know something the other teams don't????

Let's put it another way. With a wide-angle lens (which this looks to be - somewhere between 12mm and 17mm) the middle of the car would be exaggerated. Unless all the cars were taken at exactly the same distance and angle and with the same focal length, then no comparison can be drawn. They're all different, but look at the Renault to show just how exaggerated the difference can be.

You can compare basic shape and style, but wheelbase is out - especially so with the detail on wheelbase they've attempted on the (again, exaggerated example) Williams (which as already out anyway as Dahie has said).

That comparison picture was made by somebody trying to appear more clever than they actually are.

However it inevetibly sucked a lot of n00bs along with it, the main exception as ever being Gav.
