That "picture" is a promotional render for the Renault and ING sites. The idea that it changed from that to the bus because of the crash test seems to be one thats going around forums with no source. But then again, if people actually looked at the car they'd see quite a few differences with the entire front end.

Failing a crash test is a regular occurrence and doesn't tend to mean a complete redesign of half a car. The only reason the Renault was reported as failing was because there was no news worth posting during the off-season.

I doubt that Bruno, unless you meant it as a joke lol.

Thats quite a change for such a routine fail ;-)

renaults nose is interesting... the underside of that front section clearly resembles the low pressure side of a wing and the fences only strengthen that idea. Ugly but hopefully functional.

Even still with a new nose, like the one pictured by Bruno the car is still dog ugly.

Ill probably get used to it, but it really looks like Renault are trying to get as far up Alonso's ass as they can!!!! The Spanish colours does not look right.

Sapo - that picture is from the Renault F1 site I beleive?

I read this part "The source also said that approval for one diffuser design had been granted"

So if thats the design they are using its legal.

completely agree with you. i would absolutely love for them to come back.
i think they would look nicer but they would probably be a disadvantage aerodynamically - i mean, why did they get rid of them in the first place?

In many ways it would be awesome if they could simply roll out the 1992 cars, think about it... wide track cars, low nose sleekness, big fat slicks, different engine configurations with different sounds, SPARKS! Oh and best of all, Williams would suddenly pwn, and Ferrari would suck!

And there would probably be more overtaking... because there was a much wider spread of performance amongst the cars.

But that's just fancible :(

I don't know about you lot, but I absolutely cannot wait for monday when the new red bull is out. 1/5 of the entire grid is going to made up of this car and I know adrian newey isn't going to disappoint. I think there were quotes by Webber saying the car was beautiful a few weeks back.

Helmut Marko has now come out and said that the RBR is different to anything else on the grid. Hopefully he's speaking the truth and not just trying to build up PR hype before the launch.

I've grown used to the cars now, when the Ferrari first came out the rear wing looked odd, but barely notice it anymore. I just love all the clean lines and the different approaches to the nose.

that nose on the redbull look so thin, how it can support the long front wing

That doesn't make sense to me. If the cars qualify in an order that is similar to their race pace then the field will just spread out and there'll be less overtaking and less intense battles.

Maybe the tyres or KERS will help out with the overtaking though...

They might yet.

Williams launched without... and have already used it in testing, Toyota same etc.

I prefer the cars without them, start to look too silly again with them.
