Let's try to keep all posts about new cars in this thread, to keep the forum from getting cluttered. :)

January 12 Ferrari
January 15 Toyota
January 16 McLaren
January 19 Renault
January 19 Williams
January 20 BMW Sauber
February 9 Red Bull Racing
March 1 Force India
TBA Toro Rosso

Ferrari to launch their new car at Mugello on monday, 8am GMT, due to snow and cold temperatures at Fiorano.

I for one cannot wait to see these new cars. I usually look forward to them anyway, but with the new rules this year, it gives me even more reason to do so. I think this year the cars will finally have personality again - maybe we'll have the sleek McLaren against the boxy BMW, the old-school Williams against the... err, others.

It's gonna be one of the extremes: either very good or an outright disaster ;)

I wonder how the ferrari will look as we haven't seen one glimpse of them testing a 2009 spec car but just KERS through the F2008. I hope the car AND the team are reliable this year

Looking forward, although a bit afraid by the idea of most of the cars being as ugly as the BMW interim. ;)

Did not realize Ferrari was up for monday already, great!

I wonder if Ferrari will have unusual air intakes this year, given that they were testing a third air intake on the sidepods at the same time as the KERS? Or did they sort this problem out?

i think its much better to split the threads up.

there's not much more important than the cars to be used throughout the season, and this thread will become extremely cluttered with 6 launches in 10 days.

every other year we always split it up and it was fine.

just my 2 cents ;)

Ferrari are looking to update the KERS using the LMS cars of Peugeot due to the testing ban

The 2009 cars that are launched will all be interim models, nothing will look the same when they line up in Australia. The car launches nowadays are far less exciting than they used to be IMHO because you're not seeing "THE Ferrari" that will be competing the first race.

Well, 8/10 of the elements on the car will be the same in my opinion, other aerodynamic parts will be tested, but not that much. I think we just have to wait and see.

That's interesting, is there any reason they "chose" Peugeot for that, as there's isn't a lot of connection between ferrari and PSA as it seems to me? (except Jean Todt?)

i think Peugeot are investigating the use of KERS as well, so that could be a reason

It's because Ferrari want to install the use of KERS in other motorsports too.

According to rumours Ferrari may have teamed up with Peugeot to accelerate the development of the Italian F1 team's KERS system for the 2009 season.

The unconfirmed reports, citing unnamed 'F1 sources', say part of the marques' new relationship will involve Peugeot running Ferrari's F1 KERS system on a test version of its 908 prototype.

Ferrari is developing its KERS system with its electronics partner Magneti-Marelli, but the Maranello based team has admitted it is struggling with development of the technology and is yet to actually track-test a functioning unit.

It is suggested that the Ferrari-Peugeot tie-in could be one way for the Italian team to handle its lagging KERS track programme in the face of the looming in-season test ban, to take effect from the Australian Grand Prix in March.

However, it is also suggested that Ferrari may be exploring making its KERS available to teams in other categories of racing.

In 2008, Peugeot said it would campaign a hybrid electric variant of its diesel 908, complete with a KERS system, in this year's Le Mans Series.

Hmm, when you look at the screen you see : Massa Raikkonen.

Will this mean that Massa has number 3 and Raikkonen number 4?
