Cool CU! And what is that carshape you're using? It looks amazing :D. For my fairfield F1 I had to design way over 25 helmets *grumbles, lol* but my favourite is definitely this one : This is actually a computerised version of my friend's helmet (with his face in too). He owns a Gilera DNA scooter and that's his actual helmet design, lol. If only there were scooter carshapesby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Or it could just be that the textures are turned off in the "graphics options"? I know I was like that at times...wondering why no graphics were appearing and just coloured objects. That is until i turned off the textures the night before for development work. lol, oops. -Finby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Hehe, i can't say anything for my driving style. I'm always pushing to the edge when i know I shouldnt. I always have a go for overtaking and it usually works but when it doesnt i usually end up rolling a few times, lol :p. I'm quite accident prone and I like a challenge but consistency isnt my strong point. It's common for me to run just slightly wide on a corner every 2-3 laby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Hi there Long time no post...I've been busy with school/college work. lol, and as soon as i start up the work again there appears to be a problem. What I'm doing is I'm attempting to edit GP3-2000 using Gpx-patch. I made my own jam file for a car and went into the gpxpatch settings and set it to load up my car graphics instead of the mclarens...but upon loading, the wheels dissaby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Hi there I've recently been trying to edit GP3-2000 but with no luck. I have installed the game fully and correctly, downloaded a decreptyed EXE and I'm using "Carset Creator 2000 v3.5" to edit some graphics and performance data. However, once I do this and try to start a practise session or a race or anything at all (i can get into the game but just not racing on a track),by Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Its good to have a short fictional track too. Most tracks are about 5 or 6km long and last for about 2 and a half minutes, lol. Good Work -Fincentby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Hehe, thanks very much. I know now that its safe (and probably wise) to add neutral and emergency cut off to the car, lol. Thanks! -Fincent PS. Is the pic hakkinen 99?by Fincent - Grand Prix 3
I was looking through the 2003 F1 yearbook I have looking to get some ideas for my own car designs and I noticed that every car cas both an N and E inside a red circle in the same places. What are these for? lol I've had a think about it but just dont know what they are *confused* -Fincentby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Uhm, I always use the default setups as I'm not much good as a driver (just an editor with a keyboard and mouse). I hate the last sector in spa though, especially the 2nd part of the bustop chicane. I always feel as if i'm getting dragged towards the barrier there by the cc line (which is what the car follows if ya have steering help). I can turn it off either cos I have a kerboard . loby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
A template is like a default image that you use over and over again to save time. For example, if you wanted to colour the area around a car pink (to make it transparent) you would just simply place an image with the area already done over the top...instead of taking 20 minutes selecting that area each time. I dunno if thats a helpful description but it's snoozetime for fincent soon and tby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
I always use GPxPatch (possibly the best thing i ever downloaded for GP3) and have just recently downloaded "GP3 CMagic 1.5". However, when i tried to work the program it says "the file doesnt appear to be the right one" but this cant be true because it even says in GP3Edit that i'm using the decrypted 1.13 version. I am confused, lol. -Fincentby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Ah, lol, i never noticed that before. Hehe, next time i'm testing out a car I'm going to drive round hockenheim in 1st gear :p. "Hehe" (he says as the car explodes and the local population finally discover that F1 drivers CAN fly) lol. -Fincentby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Thanks guys...i've just noticed something else too. When I'm actually editing the art bitmap in PSP, i use templates alot as it saves time (i use a transparency template i just copy over a sized down screenshot for the carpics on the art bitmap). What i noticed was that i resized an image down to 75 pixels wide but when i copied it over the the art file it appeared as 76 pixels wide.by Fincent - Grand Prix 3
You know what would be good? Failures that are affected by your performance. Say for example if you keep revving the engine too high then your engine should blow up or if you kept going over the kerbs too much then your suspension should snap or something...it'd be cool :p. -Fincentby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
It could simply have been an interruption from another program. I know that when my antivirus software autoupdates itself it shuts the game down...it can be a right pain sometimes...55 laps done and you dont have to stop again with schuey over 20 secs behind *dink dink* "GPX error"... -Fincentby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
"You can use the "GP3 Pit & Lap Editor"" I've looked all over for this and I cant seem to find it anywhere (I have found links to it but they take me to a page that doesnt exist anymore ). "Pitstop data is contained in a track's magic data and can be edited with any text editor." Is this magicdata actually within the (for example) f1ct01.dat fby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Hey there After scouting round for a pitstop editor (and finding many dead links) I was wondering if it is actually possible to edit pitstops? For the championship I am doing, the race distance is only about 30-40% of what it normally is and pitstops dont happen . Does anyone know of an editor that can help me solve this problem? Many thanks -Fincentby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Hi there As you can see in the title, I'm getting an error message from GP3Edit v1.13 but I was wondering if you could help me out with it. What strikes me as peculiar is that it was working perfectly earlier in the day *confused* . The problem is that I cant export any artwork files to the game...not even a file that I've just imported fresh out of the game (the export button just gby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
"Why don't you just upload it to this website?" Thanks for the suggestion, there's just one thing....I've got no idea how to do that :p . Can anyone help me with this? -Fincentby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
i'm sure the planets wont mind if you try anyway, lol. A good tip though for designing helmets...start off with a file 5 times bigger than what the actual bmp needs to be. That way when ya size it down it looks more realistic. -Fincentby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
As requested, here is an example of the template: Here is the helmet you have designed and with the face of your choice in the middle: And here is the template you put over the top of your design: When both are brought together and when all 9 planets are in line you get this: If anybody wants it, I can put the stuff in a zip file for ya and give you the URL . -Fincentby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Hey there Because it's such a hassle to design helmets, I've come up with a template if anyone wants it. It basically works on two images...one is a background and one is a foreground with details. *takes a deep breath* You design your helmet on "Image 1" and can even put a face in if you wish. You then shrink the whole image by 20% and copy this over to the backgrouby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Many thanks, I'll have a mess around with them sometime and see what they do. I've elevated the camera a lil bit so that it looks down on the car with a 45' angle. It all seems okay now except for a lil bleed through with suspension, tyres and the rear wing. I will certainly change those details settings and see what happens...I never wanted to before incase i messed up my game (loby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
I just changed the "rear wheel polygon/sprite" and "front wheel polygon/sprite" values to 257 but it doesnt seem to have made a difference. I know that my changes were implemented because I changed the location of another camera (so that it is located in the sidepod). I also noticed that all 4 wheels are showing but its just that the other side of the car bleeds through. The sby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Hey there I just wanted to give out a big thanks to everyone who's made a contribution to this site...its great! It's really helped me bring along the series I'm doing and because of this site, the series can continue :D. To be honest, I think this is the only site I've ever got any stuff for GP3 from and its the only place I intend to go in the future. Well done everyonby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
"Check that your girlfriend ain't pulling your joystick :P" That is actually a good comment, lol. I used to race on the Original GrandPrix game and i used the keys...however i had an old joystick right next to me that I never used. I encountered the same problem and i spent hours going through all my joystick and Keyboard settings (in and out of the game). I realised one day thaby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Hey there I wonder how the new monaco is going to be made because after all...aren't the pits back to front? lol -Fincentby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
Thanks for both ideas! As i said, much appreciated :D. I run my own championship for fellow students, no players selected (viewing only) and I'm using GP2 at the moment to simulate the races. I used the original GrandPrix for the first season and I'm planning on using GP3 for the next. Hi there I was just wondering if it was possible to view the car's textures along with the carshape loaded up using the "GP3 CarEditor". I'm trying to get pics for the menu art but its kinda awkward to get a perfect side on view for each car as ya can imagine, lol. Any help would be much appreciated! :D -Fincentby Fincent - Grand Prix 3
