Do my eyes deceive me? An MS fan openly supporting another driver who could be bound for "his" team? ;)

i want MS to take the "challenge" as much as any non-MS or non-ferrari fan, i want to see if he can handle it and i'd love it to happen. i support MS, but of the new guys, i prefer Kimi to Alonso, so i wouldn't mind him at all being alongside MS, cos it's only be for a year, 2 at the most, and when MS retired, i'd follow Kimi fully.

At least some person who still is not blinded by his "love" for ferrari and especially Schumacher.

This thread is really getting a bit over the top now, you guys will never come out of this arguing, as we still not know who's best and may be never will know whether Kimi or Schumi is better. Neither as we shall know if Senna was better than Schumacher. Some people say Senna is the best driver ever, some say Fangio and some say Schumacher.

Luckily, i can watch formula 1 without being fan of an driver especially, and that makes life a lot less complicated around here. ;)

Okay Bigbrother... time to end your call for negative attention. You have made your point in the extreme. Goading people to offer you resistance is not what this thread is about, neither is this forum. If you want that, I suggest you find another forum that can cater for this peculiar interest.

Look at the thread. The last page(s) has few posts about the race, and loads about you being being unwilling to discuss on proper terms, or you claiming others won't do that. If it is not about that, then it is about your right to an opinion, or a discussion provoked by that, that concerns the very definition of opinion or beliefs. Only a handful of regular players are left in the discussion, and a large portion are frustrated with your position.

While you can chose a large selection of positions, even outright wrong positions, and hold them without that being a voilation of anything, proper discussion presupposes being willing to be held accountable for those positions. In this respect you fail, which in turn has turned the majority of the posts in this thread into a discussion about YOU. That is what I coin a negative call for attention.

That is not the purpose if this thread. It is not the purpose of this forum. In that respect, the thread, and the forum is experiencing dysfunction. Since I am a moderator, I am tasked with securing that the forums operate in a pleasant and efficient way. To guide you, we have issued a set of rules and policies. Since we cannot cover every issue, you will experience times when moderators direct you without having a specific rule, they anally can refer to. Otherwise, we would have more rules here than topics of discussion.

You were already warned yesterday. Now you have recieved a recommendation that cannot be misunderstood that you have offered dissent. Now I have explained, and reaffirm the recommendation:

Pretty please, and with sugar on top, stop this hijacking now and lets get back on track.

Ermm... looking close at the race...

As soon as the saftey car went in JB and FA were doing laps 2seconds faster than anyone else, bar Micheal... now why wasnt JB doing this before, when Alonso was? what changed? track conditions? But by the looks of it , the two Hondas in that phase were awsome!

Such a good race and I've forgoten most of it :|

Were they still on dry tyres or inters after the safety car ? My guess if they were still on inters (which im sure they were) then the tyres got a nice time to cool down.

Wasn't it this time last year that the Honda engine corraded (that the right word?) during the Summer break ?

Duno if JB sped up, or if Alonso slowed down, but later in the race the Renault was destroying the rear tyres.

well seeing as a few people say kimi is at fault for hitting the str i would say they are saying ms was at fault for hitting dc :)

JB was closing in on kimi and pedro before the safety car but kimi was having probs with his front tyres and was about to let pedro through. Ron is upset cause mclaren should have won the race with pedro and what a story that would have been. Infact pedro closed down a 15 sec gap to kimi

@marcl: Kimi has apparently said it was his fault for hitting Liuzzi, he was concentrating on de la Rosa because he was ready to let him through.

Kimi might blame himself but it was both of their faults.

Kimi was about to let Pedro through so was thinking about that, while Liuzzi was trying to let them both through, so slowed down. just an unfortunate combination of what they were both trying to do and th place it happened on the track.

Liuzzi might have been better staying at racing speed, then cutting the chicane at slow speed to allow both mclarens through at the chicane.

nevermind, it's all done now, and there are no hard feelings between Kimi and Liuzzi, so that's good.

But still after that period Alonso was lapping same pace as before SC.

Was there a condition change or something? Because it looked asif both Hondas improved in laptime... and did FA pit under the SC?

Oh yeah, I wasn't saying it was wholly Kimi's fault, as far as I remember Liuzzi also said during the race that it was just a misunderstanding between them. Nice to see that there's 2 drivers that aren't blaming each other for once, we need more drivers like that.

could be that alonso's tyres did not heat up as well as jb's. Alonso did not pit under the saftey car i think only pedro did and that was mainly to replace the tyres incase of damage.

JB was on fresher tyres at that stage than alonso as well jb had already done a pit stop alonso had not.

Maybe before the safety car honda were looking after there cars like pedro said he was trying to get more miles out the fuel and look after the tyres. Then due to the safety car they thought they could win so they speeded up.

Come on...F1 would become boooooooring. We need more fights and discussions there. It's what spices up the races.

@chet: Maybe the tyres got colder and that benefitted the hondas. And yes, FA did pit under SC
