Motorsports.com in interview with John Maverick directly after the FP Reporter: Mr. Maverick, finally another good result. Third isn't that bad, isn't it? JM: No, it's great, actually. I knew that we would be very competitive here, that car was good and I suppose this'll be a very solid base for Matt and Nick to work with. This will surely get down as soon as it becomes clear who buys which team and who drives for whom then. Mal is already in with his team and therefore already out of the waiting list. In addition to that Maikel and Stefan already announced their entrance into the series. So that seems to be clear then as well. Stu and Rod, whose were the others with possibility to get in, haven't made anby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4

Interview with John Maverick We met John Maverick, test driver for Velox Racing here in the Swiss Alps from where he got known to the newest situation in the GPGSL. That's what he had to say: Nick van der Voort told me a few hours ago, via mobile, that he will sell Velox. That came a bit surprisingly for me, as all the staff was very sure, that he would keep the team even with the newby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4

Ok guys, the race is run and the race is won. And I promise you, it was very spectacular! Coverage will come up later in the eveningby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4
Joy, Joy, Joy!!! With the 2007 version it runs soooooo smoothly. Six overtakings in a short test race without one crash So, coverage tomorrow evening EST at the earliest from my side. But I'll upload the savegame for Stuart, in case he decides to run the race earlierby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4
Yes there is some clean overtaking, as I said about half of the overtakings don't cause a crash, but in the other half it's also most times side crashes. I'll try 2007 and 2006 tracks, if it's any better with them I'll use one of themby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4
Ok, the graphics work now. But Marko, you're right with your apprehension. Although I use Mal's Magic Data and the track version from 2008 official track pack, there are plenty of accidents in the last corner. I checked it in two 5 round races and I'd say about half of the overtakings end in a crash, especially when a lot of cars are on the same spot. Any idea how to fix that?by JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4

So if you like I can upload the savegame and you can run the race later.by JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the reminder, it was actually a typo, but who knows...by JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4
Thanks Marko! Coverage will take some time. First is dinner time and then I need to finish some private stuff. Will became later evening european timeby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for the nice announcement, Mal Well it was me, who offered to host the qualifying in Sepang. It's run now and we have a pole setter. Unfortunately I don't have the password for the GPGSL.org/farked account. Therefore I'll begin uploading the pics now. And if I don't get an answer from Mal regarding the PW until I'm done with that, I'll post the coverageby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4
Agreed. Nearly impossible to do that on the real setup-side at least. But if I understood Nathan correctly, he thought this to be edited on the perf-file side. So, if a manager announces that he uses a wet setup and it rains, he gets a slightly better perf-file. But the problem I see there, is, that you don't know if it rains before you start the race. And then it's too late to chaby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4

Well, if you erase the test drivers from results and points, there is actually no need anymore to do this effort at all. IMO the practice sessions and maybe the additional test races (that seem to be planned) give a much better overview on testers' performances than one race in the main race event does. And in addition to that it would distort the whole series if in one race a team has toby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4
Rico schrieb: ------------------------------------------------------- > Or let teamowners give the chance to testdrivers > for some races WITHOUT effecting the driver > changes per season for the team... But which good teamowner would use that option? Everybody is fighting for points in the championship. From one point of view I think you're right, as team owners still can have a double role. So the more desirable way - from this point of view - would be to ban them from all race seats to dispose the opportunities a bit. But I now also accept the fact, that this would make some old-serving members feel too much disadvantaged. Therefore I think this rule at least forces some rotation at theby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4

Very good race from both Matt and Nick. That was a very solid performance and a real nice looking fight at the beginning. In this single race there was more action than in all 2010 formula 1 races until now together Btw: Absolutely stunning coverage, Marko. That was really amazing. Who says that people who don't have a chance on a race seat in the current situation aren't doing well? There are a couple of test drivers that have a lot better perf files than most of the race drivers (e.g. Zsigmond, Jack and you Dan), and take part in the roleplay here the same way or sometimes even better than some race drivers. Logically they should be the first choice for team ownby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4
@danm: I really don't get the point why a total reset should be fairer to the long serving members. In both ways they'd lose what they built up so far. And in addition to that, a total reset also doesn't solve the "problem" that the driver market stagnates and only all the same drivers get race seats. A reset wouldn't change anything there. I - personally - thinkby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4
Well, there would be the rest of this season and a complete other one before this would take effect, even if the proposal would be retroactively. I definitely understand that today's race driver's aren't very eager to support this proposal. But as there is limited space in this series, you have to find a fair way to give everybody a chance, IMO! I would have to lie when I would saby JohnMaverick - Grand Prix 4
