I'm definitely gonna need the boost for the last four races - otherwise I'm gonna get no points at all :(
After sleeping a night I think that the rules regarding team owners don't go far enough, team owners shouldn't be allowed to fill any other function beside team owner, so no racing or testing for him.

I see your point Paolo, but you shouldn't forget that there haven't been so many participants in here in S3 than there are now. That means, in the end, for you it was pretty much easier to get into the series than it is now.

All in all I appreciate the new rules. I agree with Nick that this seems to be a solid base for next season and neither advantages nor disadvantages people too much. Thanks, Nick, for this great conclusion. It's always a pleasure to read your statements ;-)

FP was a bit disappointing. I hoped for more with using team boost. But we don't seem to be very competitive as Adam only finished 11th with team boost AND driver boost. Hopefully Nick and Matt are able to change that, otherwise it'll get a very disappointing weekend, I suppose.

GPGSL : Team Owner of 'Maverick Track Performance' (MTP)
To make the managers role more fun, maybe you could try and involve some more strategy into the role. For instance you could have

- Team boosts (More BHP.)
- A choice of tyre for the weekend (Hard is advantage in race/Soft is advantage in Quliy.)
- Budgets (Different types of chassis and engines, the better performing ones cost more and you are
awarded money for the results you get in a race like $250,000 for a win, $200,000 for second and so on.
- Driver salarys (You can spend lots of your budget on a good driver and less on the engine/chassis or
the other way around. By giving people a choice on dear engine/chassis and cheaper drivers, this would also
encourage a team owner to buy a test driver giving them more oppotunnity which was one of your main
problems to begin with.)
- A choice of a wet or dry set up (By looking at the percentage chance of rain for the weekend the
manager could gamble on a wet set up. If it rains then his cars will be quicker.)

Most of there strategys could be used by changing up the perf points to suit. Like how the performance is changed now with driver boosts. It just gives it that bit more unpredictability.

These are just some ideas that I had, if anyone else can think of things to improve a managers experience then please share them.

Very interesting point...

Good question. I reckon they would be removed from the list altogether. They have to make a decision now: race driver or teamboss and tester. If they choose to be a race driver, they're effectively giving up their chance for a team. Under these new circumstances, they choose not to have a team, so they'll be removed from the list.

If there had been a waiting list for drivers, we might have chosen to ban team owners from driving altogether. But that wasn't the case, so we didn't need to do it. If the testers move up, the team bosses can fill the open spots.

Have been discussed, but they've failed to make it through.

Has also been discussed, didn't make it either.

Has been mentioned, but didn't make it because it was deemed too hard.

See the above.

I like that, but I only have little knowledge on editing GP4. Any experts on this who could clarify?
sadly not possible

used to be GPGSL's Nick Heidfeld
Agreed. Nearly impossible to do that on the real setup-side at least.

But if I understood Nathan correctly, he thought this to be edited on the perf-file side. So, if a manager announces that he uses a wet setup and it rains, he gets a slightly better perf-file.
But the problem I see there, is, that you don't know if it rains before you start the race. And then it's too late to change the perf-file. And what about situations when the first half of the race is dry and then it starts to rain?

So I think this is really impossible to implant.

Correct.
Yeah, another great practise. I'm aiming for a top three position at the end in the championship.

well mate,i won the seat, but the other contenders weren't test drivers.il s3 a lot of test drivers was unactive(like my team mate Tim van Dijck,he wasn't really interested into testing.that's why he was sacked).

and i'm happy to see "S4 testing generation" so interested into saying their opinion:-)

i remember someone proposed to have the same team BHPs into FP.Why not?if it won't be possible for S5,we can do that for S6.it would avoid to see new drivers with strong perf values after just two FPs

anyway, new rules will shake a bit the grid:-)only sad is that i'll still have to convert my helmet to 2005 shape;-(

What a great result by both guys. TSS once again proving we have the best test drivers on the grid - well done Zsig and Ruben ;-)

Good solid practice from me. Hoping I can sneak the tester's title at the death!

The only downside I can see this season is that those race drivers in teams at the back of the grid have pretty much stayed at the back of the grid. It becomes a bit more predictable who will be at the front and back. There's a good midfield battle developing.

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10; indeed, it's a common requirement in fairy tales. If the human didn't have to overcome huge odds, what would be the point? Terry Pratchett - The Science Of Discworld

It wasn't there earlier.... (D)

The last edit of the first post was at 8:09 GMT. Go to Specsavers :P
Good to see some fresh rules being implemented. Should kick the level of excitement in S5 up a notch. When will qualy and race be posted?

Go my specs on and they're not helping...

ANYWAY! I'm so bloody excited going into next season. TSS look like we're going to once again have an extremely strong driver line-up and with new rules it'll be very intriguing to see who we're going to battling in the championships with hot
