i wouldn't have any concerns as to the quality of the coverage. The BBC's coverage of pretty much any sporting event you care to mention is always about a 1000 times better than ITV's.by marwood82 - F1

I feel sorry for Steve Rider, he's a decent presenter who genuinely knows his stuff unlike the clueless Rosential. i can believe the david croft rumour. The BBC don't really have a TV motorsport team other than Steve Parish and Charlie Cox, but they're unlikely to take them off motoGP (unless thats making way for F1) so promoting him up from radio5 would seem to make sense. ben edwards wouldn't be a bad choice, though he may be under contract to A1GP + i kind of think of him and wattieby marwood82 - F1
what the bbc sport guy implied was that ITV had signed a 5 year deal which had the option to terminate after 3 years. ITV seem to be saying they chose to walk away(but then they're hardly likely to say otherwise)by marwood82 - F1
just been listening to the head of bbc sport interviewd on 5live, he said the races would all be uninterupted(ie no running off to wimbledon/lords for 10 mins). also implied that it would be a flag ship production on BBC 1 on sundays(from that i'd take it that we'll be getting all races live). said they had tv, radio, online and iplayer rights. with regards the chain. he did say tby marwood82 - F1
hmmm, i'd be surprised if the FIA go for this one. they want to cut costs and one way the've tried to do this is to force teams to build cars that last. via stick, engine penalties, gear box penalties etc and carrot. a points system that rewards consistency. if you head back to a system that is skewed towards race wins, surely you'll end up with teams building cars tby marwood82 - F1
they've kept that one quiet. great news! now come on ITV combine this with putting your tv coverage out in HD and i'll be a very happy man!by marwood82 - F1
given that i'll be in the area at the time, i quite fancy getting a couple of tickets for European grand prix. but has anyone here heard anything about when/where they go on sale? I'd heard late February/early march (ok i know were still in 'early march' but there’s no sign of them.(i know they're still building the track but so are Singapore and they've had thby marwood82 - F1
To be honest i'm begining feel bit sorry for the BRDC. They are getting minimal help from a government thats chucking billions at the olympics and Bernie seems to think that if he stamps his feet and screams like a baby for long enough he'll get a Sepang or a Sakhir, which is never going to happen. being a Williams fan i've always considered Mclaren as the enemy however i don't know about you guys but i think it'd be a sad day if he goes. F1 has changed so much in recent years and not always for the better. as some one pointed out, that'll only leave Frank and Patrick left from the old guard. to be honest, Silverstone gets a lot of undeserved stick in my opinion. yes it doesnt always produce the most exciting action but from a paying spectator point of view you don't have to spash out on the plush seats to get close to the action and given its very flat if you get in the right place you can generally see right across the other side of the circuit too. so, quick recap of the permuations, Hamiltons is 4 points clear of Alonso and 7 ahead of Kimi. Hamilton and Alonso have both currently won 4 races whilst Kimi has won 5. so. if Alonso wins and hamilton finishes 3rd or lower, then Alonso takes the title (level points gives it to alonso on having won more races). however, if alonso doesnt win, hamilton only needs to finish 5th. asby marwood82 - F1

hmmm i agree hamiltons probably a little lighter than the ferraris, but judging from alonsos reaction after qualifing(ITV reackoned he kicked a door off it's hinges) i dont think theres much difference between the 2 mclarens. Lewis had been quick in the 1st 2 sectors most of the weekend, it was just the 3rd he needed to improve on.by marwood82 - F1

if they do punnish him, i really do hope that it is a fine or place drop in qualifing, not by taking his fuji points off him. i think that would set a dangerous precident. the stewards appear not to have recieved any offical complaints after the race, yet now a week later they are investigating this. if they did exclude him from japan, what would happen if another fan footage turns upby marwood82 - F1
I dont know what they should do to be honest. theres a few differing views on this, they're all pretty valid if you ask me so i'm just going to throw a few points in and see what people think. the video evidence looks pretty damming to be honest. the accident was caused by lewis suddenly slowing down. with regards only seeing lewis driving like that, to be fair he's atby marwood82 - F1

hmmm, yeah, maybe that collision thats been threatening for a few races finally happens? senna and prost style? so, lets get a recap on what lewis needs to do. He is 12 points ahead of alonso and 17 ahead of kimi. so, he needs to score no more than 1 point less than alonso and no more than 6 less than kimi. so interestingly, a ferrari 1-2 with kimi winning, then lewis only neeby marwood82 - F1
