BCN Competition

BCN are happy to have acquired the services of Richard Lyons for the new gp2 series for 2005. Chris Stokel had the following to say, "Richard was our main target and we wanted him as our main driver. He's a quality British driver and he's exactly the kind of driver we were after. The aim now is to find a 2nd driver. We have two options, stay with British talent or invest in foreign drivers."
BCN have already said they were not going to chase F1 teams around, instead focusing on the team itself and showing what the outfit was capable of. Rumours are also circulating about a German driver coming into the team as part of the Mercedes influence on the team

Junior Red Bull Racing Press Release

Team Principal Luke Russell had this to say earlier today: "We are very happy that we have signed Miloš Pavlović to be our number two driver for the 2005 season. We hope that he can learn a lot from Alexander Wurz, and pick up information to become a great driver. We are still looking at getting a test driver in for the season, but if we don't, we are still excited and looking ahead to what should be a great season of racing."

We are happy to hire Mathias Lauda to our team. We'll give him chances to represent our teams in Practice Sessions and/or Test sessions.

Ricktworick1 Appointed as BAR Team Principle
After the shock departure of Kenney as the team principle of BAR the British based team have confirmed ricktworick1 as his replacement with immediate effect. Ricktworick was recently appointed as manager of the ART team in GP2 but however he has chosen to vacate his position in the team to move up into the realms of Formula One. This means ART are currently without a manager so if anyone is interested in taking over the team please reply asap.

Junior Red Bull Racing Press Release

In an interview today with Team Principal Luke Russell, it would appear new signing Milos Pavlovic won't be guaranteed the number 2 space, as Luke is still chasing a couple of high profile targets, including a few drivers from F1...

More to follow.

Junior Red Bull Racing Press Release

Today, Junior Red Bull Racing have completed their driver line-up with Heinz-Harald Frentzen joining the team as the number 2 driver. This completes a strong race line up, with two ex-f1 drivers taking to the field. Milos Pavlovic will become the test driver for the season, and look to gain valuable experience, whilst loanee Alexander Wurz will lead the team in what looks to be an exciting partnership.

Renault will be powering the team, and with the link-up with Red Bull's F1 team, this could be a very good year for the team.

Frentzen ?

Seriously I think there have to be some rules regarding F1 drivers

I think no one past 25 or with more than 20 F1 starts

I'm sure the real GP2 Series has a rule like this

I'm sorry but if this series is filled with old F1 drivers then I'm not interested anymore

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions

I agree with this rule unless it's a loan

I've found this about the rules concerning the drivers (on page 8): [www.msaevents.co.uk]

According to this, a driver who has won the gp2 title or completed a full f1 season isn't allowed to participate.

But it seems that rules in 2005 were different because Bruni raced in gp2 in 2005 and 2006 although he completed a full f1 season in 2004.

Some mods
F1 1996 | F1 2002 | F1 2007 | F1 2011 | F1 2013 | F1 2015 | F1 2018

I think using this rule would be fair, aside from loan drivers?

I was actually unaware of this rule but I would quite happily implement it, although it will make the transfers of Frenzten and McNish void.
