Suffolk was the manager of Campos, not ART.
Autosport gossip column
Racing Engineering team boss Chris Burland is reported to be amazed and disgusted at the sums being paid for some of the drivers his team has been targeting, and has gone as far as describing some drivers as greedy it is alleged. Mr Burland was unavailable for comment earlier today, but a tram insider told an autosport reporter that the team still had a number of targets that they were pursuing, but were gobsmacked at Carroll's decision to hold out for the largest fee possible and that other team owners were bananas for offering so much money for a driver of his ability.

Team Campos Racing Statement:

"We are dropping out of the race to sign Adam Carroll. We thought Adam would sign for us, and we offered him a lucrative contract to come race for the team so it is a bit of a slap in the face for us for him to then turn around and say he holds out for more cash. The other bidders are welcome to him if they want to put a higher bid in for him."

"Campos are pursuing other targets now to fill our second race seat and also the test driver role."
Yoshimoto to sign contract
After a long wait, Hiroki Yoshimoto now finally signed a contract with HiTech Racing. The japanese said that he feels relieved after finally signing a contract, even though he is the cheapest driver until now with a contract worth only £500k. But who knows, the most favourable must not be the worst...

ART GP back in Negotiations
After the leave of ricktworrik ( :) ) ART Grand Prix missed out some time of the negotiations. Now temporarily replacement manager JohnWarrington signed 30 years old Yuji Ide for £7m. The "old" driver therewith becomes the third japanese driver in GP2, after Yoshimoto and Kobayashi and completes the line-up of ART Grand Prix.

Campos Racing dropping chance on Carroll
After Adam Carroll yesterday announced, that he couldn´t decide on a team, Campos Racing today surprisingly dropped out of negotiations with him. "...we offered him a lucrative contract to come race for the team so it is a bit of a slap in the face for us for him to then turn around and say he holds out for more cash." says Team Manager SuffolkF1, who on a side note is not going to leave GP2 Series, as stated in some strange rumors. ;)
This now leads to Super Nova Racing signing the contract worth £7m. Carroll said, that he is surprised, but glad to have signed the contract so fast.

Super Nova Racing Announcement
We are very happy to have Adam Carroll onboard with us and hope to have a fantastic 2005 season with both him and Nico Rosberg.
HiTech Racing Statement

We are really happy for Yoshimoto. Hope he will do a good job
Briscoe Signs for McLaren
Current Toyota test driver Ryan Briscoe is set to become part of the McLaren outfit for the 2005 season. The Aussie today confirmed he had signed a contract worth £3m to test for the team in the upcoming season. A few other teams also showed interest including one from the newly formed GP2 series, but the offer from McLaren was apparently 'too good to turn down'.

Sauber GP2

We wish Briscoe all the best, but we really had hoped he would've taken the opportunity to race again.

The search for our team completion still goes on.
Super Nova Racing Announcement
We are ecstatic to announce that Ryan Briscoe has been loaned to us by McLaren and will fill our final seat in the team as a test/reserve driver.
David Price signs first driver
After a long wait, David Price Racing has now finally signed their first driver. Alexandre Prémat will be joining them for £8m, after rolling a dice: "Another team was willing to pay £8m too, so I rolled a dice: 1, 2 and 3 would be David Price Racing and 4, 5 and six was the other team. I rolled a 2 in the end.".

Coloni Racing completing its line-up
Félix Porteiro and Coloni Racing have signed a test driver contract, worth £800k. As noone else was interested in Porteiro, the team could continue signing low-budget drivers. Now, after signing all drivers, they have £9.9m left. That makes £29.9m for next seasons negotiations and testing. Therewith, Coloni Racing could become the richest team next year...
DPR Press Statement

Dan Paddock called a press conference today to announce some exciting news for the team.

Firstly DPR have signed a deal to become a feeder team to Ferrari in F1.

The deal is to also include Robert Doornbos. Who will drive at DPR next season.

Just so you know this will depend on whether or not Doornbos resigns with them next season as I am yet to receive an offer for him from Ferrari.

Racing Engineering signs contract
After having signed Kamui Kobayashi, Racing Engineering haven´t signed a driver for a long time. Now that Benoît Tréluyer became cheaper, after longly waiting for a contract, Racing Engineering decided to sign him. Benoît Tréluyer is quite happy about this: "I was scared, I could not sign a contract for 2005 and thus end my chance on driving in Formula 1 one day, so I lowered my minimum contract offer. And just after a few hours, my phone rang and it was Racing Engineering." It is yet to be revealed, if Tréluyer will get the role of the first, second or test driver.
