Team Campos Racing Statement:

"Well, it seems that we will be going it alone this season. We have had doors well and truly slammed in our faces in terms of trying to forge a sister team link-up with the F1 paddock. It seems clear that no-one wants to go into a partnership with us, which is gravely mystifying and disappointing as we feel we have a lot to offer to a F1 team in any potential link-up. However, it looks unlikely that it will be happening sadly. At least McLaren had the decency to acknowledge our offer(s), so we remain hopeful of something bearing fruit there in the future with them."

"In the meantime, I will do my best to field two high quality drivers but given the run of luck Campos have had so far in the build up to the season, it is hard not to feel glum about our prospects although we will keep on fighting."

BCN Motorsport announcement

Following the takeover of BCN Motorsport by Chris Stokel, the team would like to announce that they will continue under the original banner. So with no name change, what is in store for the team?? Well Chris Stokel had the following to say "we are glad to have this opportunity, however we will not be persuing an f1 team, we would like them to come to us if they want to work with us. We are extremely confident and deals will start tomorrow"

Welcome in :)
With that, we have all 11 teams set and driver negotiations are oficially starting right now! But first of all, some news:

Junior Red Bull Racing is born
Red Bull Racing signed a Sister Contract with DAMS. It is therewith the second team after McLaren Mercedes to realise the many possibilities of the Sister Contracts. It is said that the contract is worth about £2m and that DAMS will be renamed into Junior Red Bull Racing. Furthermore next years test driver Alexander Wurz is gonna be the Driver #1 for Red Bull Junior. It is said that Red Bull earns £4m with that contract.

An apple a day
One contract per day. That seems to be the philosophy of the Renault Engine Department, because today they announced, that they signed a contract with Campos Racing, worth about £7m.

Signed as promised
"Don´t worry, the contracts will be signed.". Thats, what Mercedes Engines Manager said in an interview some time ago. Today they announced, that they have signed 3 contracts: Racing Engineering, Super Nova Racing and BCN Competition are the lucky ones. The Manager reveals some details: "The deals of Super Nova Racing and BCN Competition are normal engine deals, worth £6.5m. The contract with Racing Engineering is something special. They were offering £7.5m right away, and we were like >>Whoa, thats a lot<<. So we decided, to make an advanced offer: They are paying £7.5m but we on the other side are paying their first complete Test Session (Not Pre-) including Sending the important engine data we need. That makes £500k paid by us. Furthermore, we are willing to pay another complete Test Session, if Racing Engineering is going to show good results."

Drivers available for negotiations

Available for 1 week
Kamui Kobayashi – 19, £2m
Heikki Kovalainen – 24, £6.5m
Richard Lyons – 26, £5.5m
Miloš Pavlović – 23, £2m
Ferdinando Monfardini – 21, £500k
Mathias Lauda – 24, £1.5m

Available for 2 weeks
Hiroki Yoshimoto – 25, £500k
Nelson Piquet – 20, £3m

BCN Motorsport

We, BCN Motorsport, are pleased to have signed our first contract. Mercedes was our first choice for engine supplier and we are glad to of signed with them. We hope that we can work well together and are confident of being on the pace for the first race of the year. We are now entering driver negotiations, we understand this could be the hardest process of putting the team together but we are hoping for a succesful period resulting in us getting the drivers we want to help take this team on to success!

BBC News - Dave Price Racing purchased by Dan Paddock, head of the Martini Paddock Racing GPGSL Team

Dan Paddock welcomed journalists from around the world today to the MPR factory as he announced that he had purchased the long running Dave Price Racing team.

Dan: DPR have a great history running back all the way to 1976, and have been successful at every category they have ever put their hand to. DPR were initially accepted to join the new GP2 Series for 2005, however Dave felt that the team was not ready to compete. So we stepped in and made a deal which means that the team will be able to continue. We are all really excited about this new category, and are looking forward to the future.

Dan didn't exactly outline exactly what the link between MPR and DPR would be. He was quoted as saying "there might be some re-branding before the series officially starts, but we want to keep our link to the teams history. Right now we are focusing on completing an engine deal, and signing some drivers for the season".
