Arden International will be the Sauber GP2 Team

We're happy about our deal with Sauber and are proud to be apart of the swiss team.

Now we're looking to sign our engines and drivers for this season. We made some offers and we hope,
with the backing of the Sauber F1 team, we can complete the deals as soon as possible.

All Engine contracts signed
Today, the last engine contracts have been signed. Arden International and David Price Racing are the two new partners of Ferrari. Renault completed its line-up with iSport International and Red Bull Junior Racing. Both contracts are said to be worth around £7m. Last Mercedes team will be HiTech Racing.

On a side note
I´ve been to the German Grand Prix today and it was AWESOME!!!! :) :) Yet i´m totaly exhausted, as I had to work until 1AM yesterday/today, so nothing more from me today.

Allright, this thread is getting a little bit quite, so to keep it up, i had an idea. First of all, i´ll change the current offer times as follows:

Drivers available for negotiations

Available until july, 26th
Kamui Kobayashi – 19, £2m
Heikki Kovalainen – 24, £6.5m
Richard Lyons – 26, £5.5m
Miloš Pavlović – 23, £2m
Ferdinando Monfardini – 21, £500k
Mathias Lauda – 24, £1.5m

Available until july, 31st
Hiroki Yoshimoto – 25, £500k
Nelson Piquet – 20, £3m

Secondly, I could write interviews and spread rumors about driver negotiations, like: Driver XY has been seen with the manager of Team ABAB. Note that these may only be rumors and there may be nothing true about it, while it may be totally true as well. An example is: Lewis Hamilton has been seen visiting the Red Bull Launch...
But thats up to you. If you don´t want me to do so, I won´t.

I may starting these news today or tomorrow, before the ending of the first round of negotiations, if you wish so :)

i think you should, just to keep the thread busy, and keep us update on potential transfer news. And maybe have all the drivers open so we can get onto the first test? Just an idea :)

Pointless rushing the first test as we have to wait until the 2004 f1 season is finished before we can start the gp2 series

Racing Engineering Press Release

Team boss Chris Burland took new driver Kamui Kobayashi on a tour of the team's facilities this afternoon after Kamui revealed he had chosen to join up with the team and rejected offers from some big name teams including the Red Bull junior team and an unnamed F1 outfit.

Burland said "We're really excited about Kamui's potential, and have watched his success in a number of junior championships this season including his two wins in the Italian Formula Renault series"

At just 18, Kobayashi will be one of the younger drivers, but the team owner isn't worried
"Kamui has 9 years racing experience in Karts and single seaters, and we are confident he could be a real contender in this championship"

Kobayashi is keen to get started
"I've had a wonderful introduction to single seater racing this year with the Prema Team in Formula Renault 2000, and I'm now ready for the challenge of a more prestigious championship, and I'm thrilled with the number of teams who were interested in acquiring my services for 2005, and I can't wait to prove that I've made the right decision in choosing Racing Engineering. I'm very impressed with the facilities we have here, and the effort that the management have made in forging a strong relationship with the engine manufacturer. I now just want to familiarise myself with the car, and show the fans what I can do"

When asked about the potential team mates for Kobayashi, Burland was reluctant to name his targets, but did say he was hopeful of getting another strong driver in to form a formidable line up for the forthcoming campaign.

Sauber GP2 press release

We're proud to have Heikki Kovalainen on board, we feel he can be a championship contender for us.
Now we only need to fill one seat and then we can focus completely on the first GP2 championship.
