@Lo2k:

A minor request for the next 3DEditor concerning the .col file:
When I subdivide a face all faces are being reloaded and the very first face of the beahviour layer is selected. This costs much time when I want to subdivide more faces because I always have to remember the ID of the previous face and then scroll and search for it again.
Is it possible that the subdivided face remains selected after reloading?

For example: I subdivide face 500 and now face 1 is selected. But I want to go on with subdividing face 501. Now I have to scroll again until I find face 501. Would be more practical if face 500 is being selected automatically again after subdividing it.

I remoddeled some corners and generated the grapical part from the track in 3D editor (.3ds)
I imported this into MAX, and I also imported the previously modelled landscape.
Both objects don't fit anymore, so I have to remodel the edges of the landscape

now the problem : I can't connect them as they are both different objects (Max only allows to draw poly's in 1 object, not between different objects.

Is there a way to "Merge" 2 objects together (ex. DLbank & DLbank01) ??

EDIT : I found it; Its the Atach function

I have tried to change the order of the tracks to the 2006 season and have big problems. Im using GPX To change the Track order around but it seems not to work properly. The cars follow the corect track but the graphics are all over the place driving through walls all sorts.

any one else tried it.

Use TSM (Track Set Manager).

@Lo2k:

Another small request for the next version 3DEditor, if possible.
Can the 'create fence' feature (.gp4 + .dat opened) be also used for pitlane?
At the moment I can only create fences for track sectors, but I'd also like to make some for the pitlane.

Another problem...hopefully someone knows the reason and can help me. Maybe it's a bug by 3DEditor but I absolutely don't know :(

I have created a shadow (also SHADOW class) and when I drive through it a shadow is displayed on the car - that's fine and this is how it should be.
But at a ponit - it's still the same object - it is not displayed anymore :(

Don't pay attention to the shadow texture, it's not transparent and it still has to be inverted vertically.

Here two pics:

1) this works fine - shadow is being displayed on the car

2) just one or two metres onwards - the shadow on the car has gone

What happenes?

OK, I added pitlane fences to my todo-list.

Concerning the shadow bug, is the .col up-to-date ?
Be also sur to check normals for .col faces and your .gp4 shadow faces.

Is this the same shadow object all along (on the two shots at least) ?

Yes, it is.

Thanks for quick reply. I will check normals tomorrow.

You don't need to give shadows a "shadow" class, they run exactly the same if you name them SHADOW_xx :)

um, that makes them shadow class i think.

@Lo2k - just wanted to say thanks and well done. I've been sing 3d editor a lot lately and its really superb. Hopefully a new version is coming one day, but for now the program is just great and pretty easy to use and has alot of nice features. Thanks :)

No success until now:(

How do I check normals of .col-faces? I had a look at them but they all have the same values - I see no differences.

Not neccesarily, I named mine shadow_xx, no class given and they worked fine. tbh if you don't need to give them a class then dont bother

Laurent, have you already unveiled the secret of converting gp3 heights to correct gp4 heights?
