When this happens to me I export the object to .3ds, reimport, invert faces, invert V mapping and reapply textures. It generally works.

@Laurent, i'm not sure if this one already has been found/reported but here goes...
bug:
1) Open a track and go to scene 1 (probable any other scene as well)
2) create a new object (box v2)
3) detach all some faces (i tried the top & bottom faces) as new part1
4) delete the new part1

you've got yourself a annoying error, which forses you to kill 3DE process without saving.

This kind of error just comes up so now and then, it's quite random.
Sometimes 3DE works hours and hours and....sometimes not ;-)

There's not much to say about clipping distance than what's in the doc:
If the car is outside the red circle, object will be invisible for the car, it it is inside the circle, object will be visible.

Thanks a lot

Is it always invisible (during every session)?
If there is the word 'full' within the name of the object it will only be displayed during quali and race.

@32BOBO32:

If you export crowd object to 3ds-file, remember invert faces after you import object to track.

For crowds to function fully they must have FULL on the end :)

I edited my post above, I had said "invert V coordinates", that's not right.

Try to set the value of unknown4 the same as the terrain where is located the crowd on your new track

Gildoorf: thanks, but i'm kinda re-doing the heights, it's too bumpy and too extreme in some parts

Zeppelin's new guide is really helpful, new people should take a look at it.

I've got a doubt on banked turns: I want to make a banked turn on my track, so I changed the "banks angle" value for the corresponding sectors. But I don't see any difference on the track. What am I missing here? I'm guessing it is possible to make banked turns, since there's one on the recent Tarumã track..

Oh and can I make a feature request for Lo2k's 3dEditor? To change a value for multiple consecutive sectors, like selecting sectors 120 to 140 and setting the banks width all to the same amount at once instead of changing sector by sector. I don't know if it's possible to do this already, but it'd save a good amount of time :)

@Paco:
Btw, what happend to your Hungaroring track? Sorry if I have forgotten.
Is there something to come or did you pass this track over to Tony?;-)

@Paranoik0: banks angle changes angle of banks, not banking. Banking is driven by its own command, AD, Track banking.
Your request is already on my todo list :)

i was looking for a solution between 3DE and new ATI drivers, i couldn't find anything, so today i uninstalled my gfx drivers to go back to the ones that came with my card... i will be back to work asap :)
btw, i did a full race today, had no problems, and the best of all, it didn't crash on exit (nor pressing esc during the race), and i'm not using debug mode ;)
