Thats similar as to what Ruboy told me, so I deleted everything but the first sectors of the pilane, moved them a bit further down so it's a lot smoother entry and exit. Well, it would be if my car didn't go all crazy.

Estoril aint my problem any more, and as the thread I made some months ago suggests, I'm back working on Valencia, no news as yet, I'm still rebuilding the layout :)

You can export it on .3ds or .gp4. When you import 3ds object you have to invert V-mappings, sometimes when you import .gp4 object some textures are in wrong order or few parts contains same texture. It's better write to paper all texture names/numbers and order if gp4 object contains many textures.

if you want to export an object from one track to another..the best method is to export object as gp4...place the associated tex files for this object to the wad you are importing to..then import as gp4 object...this will keep the objects mapping & position...

Hi

I couldnt find any thread about the new hockenheim layout, but I'd like to know if theres a low or mid resolution version available? because the current release at gp4db.com just shoots up my PO right at the start of the race, Is there any way to resize the textures to create low or mid res versions, if possible?

I've got a problem on a track I'm working on. It is a modified layout, but the _track.bin file is crashing the game on second/third loading. With original .bin it works fine. .bin matches perfectly with track mesh in .gp4 file and it's just generated from 3DEditor, I have tried creating it with version 16.4 and got the same problem. What can be wrong with the file? Or can it be something else?

In the original tracks of the GP4, in the first return, it has some flash photos, but in the modified tracks, it does not have this. That archive is this of the flash of the photos? Grateful

@PrBlanco: This can be due to a wrong number of sectors in the last part of the .bin file. You can try to remove one sector from the .dat before converting it to .bin and check if it works better.

@CleberPister: I already replied you on RealGPx.

Hi all.

I'm new to track editing. Like almost everyone, I had a few problem with dat editing (especially for the pitlane) but now, I can make a .dat file without problem. But now I begin the graphic part without any talent at this, and I have a first problem. So I am sorry in advance if it has already been solved in the past.

After having converted the .dat file into .gp4 file, and having assigned a tex for asphalt, I changed the pitlane tex. In 3DEditor, it works well, but ingame, there is no change, even after having disabled bump mapping. What did I make wrong ?

the tarmac is controlled by the bin file. and the tarmac.tga file in the resources folder in the wad.

I was just about to ask about the tarmac, so thanks b-tone.

Just one more thing I need to do then I think my dat is pretty much done. Basically, just before the first corner the cars seem to sink down into the track a little. It's after the breaking point. Then just before they start to turn it returns to a normal position. Then on the very last corner, the front of the cars rise, like they are going to take off. This part of the track is almost flat out. It lasts for maybe 2 or three seconds then returns to normal. There are other parts of the track which are quicker and this does not happen there.

In both areas where I have problmes the track is completely flat.

Anyone any thoughts?

paul..
