nice, but unfortunatly useless for trackmakers, the only places using a usefull resolution are in the USA, and there is only indianapolis, wich is old, as the f1 layout isn't even build yet in this sat picture, the rest of the world is not detailed enough.

The track is broken into many objects... just extract them one by one and fit them together.

i have been working on monza 1995 and starting again from scratch would be a ludicrous waste of time

Is there any chance anyone has done a working version of Melbourne, with the pit entry as a straight road, and working ok with the cc line, that is possibly ready to post, with just that modification done to it??
That pit entry really sucks in GP4! No worries if there isnt a working version able to be posted, but geez it would be nice!

well, i'm not 100% sure totaly rebuilding the dat file will be nescesary, when building my "oval" i noticed that the cars where not standing straight on the grid, and other strange problems when entering the pitlane, when i editting some of the "orientation" values those side-effects changed, the problem is, i dont know wich vallues are good for orientation, so really solving it cant be done, but lo2k was working on auto calculationm all orientations of the track, just like for instance the pitch etc. i have a descent hope that that can solve a lot of strange problems. :)

(btw duffer, how do i make a text linking, like you did in your signature, i can only place a link, not make it appear like text or something)

It's a known problem that adding and deleting sectors corrupts the garage and grid positions... I think lo2k will be looking into it when he gets back.

I mentioned it recently, but I don't think Laurent had time to investigate before he went on holiday. Unfortunately, it seems all track dats that has been created using add/del will have to be redone once/if the problem is sorted. Stretching and compressing works fine though.

I've also found making the dat results in very bumpy tracks... i've been trying to smooth out Barcelona for ages! I think a snapping tool to the .gp4 mesh would be handy, if possible.

yes, dats can get very bumpy when manually displacing stuff, hopefully when the generating of new sectors works fine we wont have to do that manually anymore. doing it by hand is almost impossible.
about snapping, lo2k said it can be done, but will be pretty cpu consuming, think he was looking into it before he went off, so lets hope he has good news about it when he gets back :)
