Sorry Maverick, I wrote my answers to your list this morning but forgot to copy/paste it here :)

So here it is :

When selecting a face in a col file with "fix cam" OFF i allways seem to end up on the wrong side of the track, upside down, can you fix that?
Well, can you give me an example of a non-working face (giving me face number in an original .col file) ?
facing is based on face's normal direction. And thus most of the time this trouble appears with faces having a null normal (0,0,0 coordinates).
For .gp4 objects, it can also comes from wrong global position coordinates.
In that case, you can fix it clicking on the "Update coords" button and reselecting the object in the list.

Selecting multiple vertexes, as now sometimes you want to displace an
object, but it's "contacted" with another, for example the trackwalls,
wich are one object with the ones at the other side, so you have to
move the individual vertexes wich take the whole object out of shape.

Multiple selection will be there in a future version but I can't say when right now because it needs important internal code changes.

You said before somewhere that splitsectors are always at 1/3 and
2/3 of the tracks, would it be possible to visualize them on the .dat
circuit?

Well, that's an idea. Yes it could be done.

Could you make it possible to load the cfp file with a gp4 file?
Previewing files along a .gp4 file is not a big problem but editing and saving these additional files is one.

See picture; [maverick.dynasoft.nl] didn't change
pitlane, only track, this happened, duffer said he had pitlane
problems when using the "add sector" feature, maybe that's the case
here? I myself have had experience that track direction has a big
influence on the position of the cars on the grid, as you said you had
it "automated" in the wip version, maybe you could see if correcting
them would alter the positions on one of my altered tracks positively?

Yep, I looked at Duffer's track yesterday (where his car was starting in the middle of the pitlane) and finally fixed it using this automatic feature to compute cc-cars direction.
Once I did it, cars has started from garage as usual and was no more like attracted left or right all along the track at it was (like a cc-line but stronger).

End :P

Good to hear you have fixed the pitlane problem.

i can, take hungaroring2001.col >> tarmac >> triangle face 45

sounds fair enough :)

great :)

Hm well for editting cfp files i dont think i would be jumping for this, cause they are not what i thought they were, and atm i have no clue whatsoever what use they are.

Ah nice to see my theory on this was correct, hope to see the update soon, as it will be very usefull

not really, i have more, we recently talked about height clipping remember? I looked into it and setting the clipping to one and moving the object 10 above the track makes it not visible ingame, wich is nice cause you can use that for what we talked about :) just move it 100mtrs aboce and set clipping top 1 (and flag to 64, you know what thats for (if you read my previous posts, wich i'm sure you did) and it'l be great

END :)

I will check for hungary...
Hmm, yes, you can hide obects this way, as long as car(camera ?) never come in the object's clipping circle...

yes thats my point, but well, if you insist you can use the resize function, but only because it your editor :+

Well, I took maybe too much care reducing clipping size to 1 m, resizing objects and hiding them behind any bush but you can use your method as well :)

well just hiding them is easy, but letting them not show up in the editor is the part where it gets interesting, is that working out?

of course my above method don't completely hide object in 3DEditor as no method will (appart scale down to 0 an object, but it's name will still be in the list).
The method above is just to hide object in game.

yes offcouse i know that, but because you said (and i quote ;-) ) of course my above method don't completely hide object in 3DEditor as no method will wich is clearly part of the idea, so i thought maybe overtime you forgot the idea, i can understand you havent worked on it yet, you have only been back for a fey days, and gp4 problably not the only thing in your life (i sincerly hope so anyway ;) ) just making sure great ideas arent forgotten ;-)

Hi guys, i'm very new in GP4 Trackediting, but i'm familiar with F1C trackediting. So i started to built up a Monaco 2004 for F1 C and now i want to try to convert it for GP4. But when i try to export the monaco2001.gp4 file with 3d Editor 11.7 to WRL format i can't load it in 3ds max. i got 3 Error messages:

VRML read error: expected '{' when 'T'

then:

Read of C:\monaco2001.wrl failed

and finally:

Improper fileformat.

Does anybody have an idea? Or does anybody have a workin monaco.wrl for me??? The other Tracks are workin fine, it's only a Monaco related bug.....

@Ghostrider: weird, I only tried to export Indianapolis to vrml and it was working but it seems there's an error in the vrml file due to some missing syntax. I will see that.

@Dave: About your upside down camera with faces: check the face's normal (ie face 45 at hungaroring), Z coord is -1. That means that face is facing the bottom of the track. Camera is always facing the face and thus is below the track, it's normal.

@Lo2k
Each other Track is workin fine, it's only with monaco. And i also tried Sven's never published GP4MasterV2 which has the same Bug. Are you able to fix that?

Laurent, can you tell me what the difference is between the verge and bank? and what is the difference in gp4, as i see them crossing eachother sometimes.

Sorry, you can't reply to this topic. It has been closed.
