As much as I would like to rubbish Massa and call him erratic, I think there was something wrong with his front left brake. I've noticed on the replay that there was lots of black smoke coming out of that area when he was hurtling backwards. When you think about it, if that side went then he'd only have the front right available which would pull the car to the side like it did. However if it was a brake failure then I dont know what he was doing on them in that corner lol.

Good race from Kimi, bring the championship back into things nicely especially with things just not happening for Lewis this weekend. Kovy saved a few points for McLaren but I was surprised to see the BMW up there in 2nd which was a great result for Kubica!

- Doubt Massa will be racing for Ferrari in 2009..Vettel will probably drop in his place..

- He is erratic and quite inconsistent during the race..He's OK when starting from pole and leading, but unable to challenge anyone with similar speed - definitely not fit to be in a Ferrari!

it was just normal black smoke that comes from breaks(look the pitstops for example) there was nothing wrong with the car according to Ferrari telemetry.

e. I've noticed on the replay that there was lots of black smoke coming out of that area when he was hurtling backwards.

Thats normal when the car changes direction so fast, and even if it wasn't, you do not brake there, so it was not brake related.

Massa simply ran out of his limited talent with his very heavy foot.

Well, maybe I'm exaggerating on Hamilton a bit. It's just that everyone keeps saying he is the second coming, and to be honest, I haven't seen that yet. He was more lucky than good at Australia and in this race, where luck wasn't on his side, he failed to really deliver. BTW, Heidfeld and Alonso were able to pass Webber easily enough...why couldn't Lewis? His main problem seem to be tire maintenance and we've seen what happens when you don't keep things tidy (IE China 2007).

Also, everyone is saying the race was boring, heh, I don't think so. Seemed like a pretty good race from where I was looking. Some good battles, a few good overtakes, Massa spinning plus I just really love to watch the cars going around Malaysia. The circuit is just too cool, heh.

great race.i think massa will be leaving ferrari shortly.
he definitely does not deserve to be in a top team.his mistake(im quite sure it was'nt a technical problem) lost ferrari a definite one-two.

kimi was super quick.now it is looking like a ferrari championship.their pace today was super quick and i think mclaren will be fighting with bmw and nobody will be able to come close to raikkonen.

kubica did well.

for me trulli did the best job.it shows hes an A-grade driver.ferrari should sign trulli as their no 2.no bullshit no politics just keeps his mouth shut and drives.

i was never a fan of alonso but im begining to develop a respect for this guy.good drive from him and also from weber.

lewis was locking his brakes at turn 2 and the last turn almost every lap(almost every onboard lap)if i remember correctly he was locking his brakes frequently in melbourne as well. it seems he's struggling with that mclaren.

Raja Hassan Bin Naeem.

When? I believe you mean Coulthard, who was a lot slower and fueled a lot longer.

Nick and alonso passed DC not webber who was very heavy on fuel but neither passed webber.

I hope you're right about Ferrari dropping Massa in 2009. Even last season, Massa only won races where he started from Pole and was unchallenged and was dry.

Sure there were times where he led and Kimi was right behind him, but I don't really consider a team mate behind is a challenge. Kimi won't be stupid enough to risk it. And in the two wet races last season, he was overtaken by Alonso in both cases, I think it was at Nurb and China(I may be wrong about the place)

cakewalk for kimi lmao moment at his temper tamtrum on the podium, nice to see hekki up there, mr alonso will have had a huge smile on his face when driving past massa and without todt snr in charge his manager has much less influence, i think his days are numbered.

also i thought itv's coverage was the worst i'd ever seen it, no grid walk, only pc interview was from kimi and how lost was james allen when the timing screen went; bring on the beeb

Webber, heavy on fuel? He pitted 7 laps before DC. DC was the heavy on fuel one.

"Trulli was slowing down like he wanted to have a picnic" LOL

I stand corrected on the brake dust then :) lol, I've never really noticed it before in a spin though which is why I pointed it out.

Totally agree with you there. Not impressed by the coverage at all, it just seemed so thin compared to usual and the commentary was poor, even by James Allen's standards...especially the qualifying yesterday. Hopefully they'll improve things for the next race and go all out to make a good impression instead of just thinking "whats the point of doing good coverage? we're not doin it next year anywways".

read what i said chet i said dc was heavy on fuel.

Will they fit a new engine for massa that is the question?

Barhrain will suit ferrari it did last year and even when their car was not good a few years back MS challenged alonso.

tbh the coverage this year i think is going to get worse and worse as they will not be showing it and most people can not wait till next year.

They did not even show kovy interview and you can bet had lewis or jb been 3rd we would have heard it.

Webber pitted early because of a fuel pump problem though.

Great race on the Ferrari side of things, shame about Massa but he will bounce back :). Glad to see Kimi didn't for the first right at the start and "LOL!" @ Hamilton finally he suffered some torrid times, I hope that trend continues. That spin with Felipe looked weird as he'd been going through that corner the same way all through the weekend. But we'll see what happens when Ferrari publish something

this is quite alarming:

Q: And after that quite a lonely race, really?
KR: Yeah. For sure we could have gone much faster if we had pushed but we had already turned the engines down before the first pit stop, after the first laps, so it was quite easy for us.
