I think ITV are just really happy that there's finally a British driver who's actually good instead of just average, and they've taken their enthusiasm a bit too farby EC83 - F1
There's definitely an element of the FIA withholding penalties to stop them interfering with the Championship battle. I've never seen an incident be investigated by the stewards during the race and a penalty not be given out on the spot. The incident Lewis got the drive-thru for in France was minor by comparison, in terms of the potential consequences, but Lewis still got a penalty forby EC83 - F1
Yeah, that aggregate rule was really confusing and silly. So glad they don't use it anymore. I'd imagine the 75% race distance rule still applies, it's been so long now since a race was stopped and declared a result before 75% distance had been completed(Australia 1991) I'm not sure myself. I think the 2 hour time limit should be relaxed - the races wouldn't run oby EC83 - F1
The one where Kimi nosedives... solid gold genius!!by EC83 - F1
Alonso will more than likely stay at Renault next year I think, while his move to Ferrari in 2010(hopefully as team mate to Kimi) is finalised. Honda are a less competitive team, and they wouldn't want to take anyone on for just a single season. Plus they're happy with Jenson and Rubens. Hopefully Bruno Senna will get an STR seatby EC83 - F1
Kimi's won every Belgian GP since 2002, so it's a great chance for him. I defo hope he can win it; totally agreed with Iceman, if he doesn't win in Spa his Championship chances will probably be done. Want to see him stay in contention for it - he can do so much better than he's done these last few races. Spa would be the perfect time for him to win from pole with fastest lapby EC83 - F1

Not quite; DC's promotion to be a race driver at Williams was a direct result of the loss of Ayrton. His first race was the Spanish GP on May 29, 1994. But it's true his 3rd place in Canada was a great result, and shows he's still aby EC83 - F1
Yup, that's the one. It's interesting to see what compromises teams make on downforce settings etc, as the two halves of the lap are so different. That infield section is Mickey Mouse - especially Turns 9 and 10 where Schuey and JV spun their cars towards the end of the 2000 race. Ridiculously slow! You usually get a good race there though It's a good point that America has traby EC83 - F1
Does this remind anyone else of the threat of a "breakaway" rival series to F1 a while back? It just seems like an alternative/rival series to the existing GP2. Remembering that GP2 used to be F3000, which itself used to be... Formula 2!! @ Dave - I think you're spot on regarding Max. It just seems to be complicating things unnecessarily. Yeah, Kyalami and Mexico City were both great tracks. Kyalami was very technical, and Mexico was great for slipstreaming down the long start/finish straight. The 1991 race in Mexico was awesome! The high altitude and bumpy surface(though it was really too bumpy) made it a unique challenge. The last GP at Kyalami was unusual for being hit by the thunderstorm at the end; I have a video of that onby EC83 - F1
RE the French GP podium photo: "Massa celebrates, unaware he's split the seat of his overalls"by EC83 - F1
Totally agreed with marcl. Any one of several top drivers(Lewis, Alonso, Kubica, Heidfeld, Kovy, the Honda drivers) could've got at least as many decent results as the current Ferrari drivers have done this year if they'd been in that car. Though both Ferrari drivers have thrown away significant points with dumb mistakes this year. Massa would be leading the drivers' Championship bby EC83 - F1

Totally, my thoughts exactly! That strip of gravel can't have been more than 7-8 metres wide. Of all the drivers Massa has struggled the most since the loss of traction controby EC83 - F1
Sounds like it's gonna be an awesome race. Sepang's so demanding, should be plenty of attrition again. Can't wait for quali! By the way, seems Lewis has great taste in women. Sonia Irvine's gorgeous, if I remember right. We'll soon know if it was her.by EC83 - F1
It's crap, if the logistics are that important they should've just told McLaren to get a smaller motorhome. They're sanitising the penalty for no good reason. It defeats the whole purpose of imposing it in the first place.by EC83 - F1
Exactly, it's like a computer game guide to the season. Pretty funny! Can't wait for next weekend!by EC83 - F1
