Do you have this wheel? Do you have separate axis for brake and accel in a patched gp4? See the x y and z (Morbid) topic if you haven't done so already All relevant comments on this topic welcome TIAby mortal - Grand Prix 4
hehehe Yes thanks Z my soul is safe....for the time being anyway lolby mortal - Grand Prix 4
Update: Thrustmaster preset created, pedals set to separate mode, this is evident in the thrustmapper software. Thrustmapper set to run the gp4 preset on auto. Gp4 start, safedisc splash screen, Thrustmapper dialogue box opens stating gp4 preset now loaded. In GP4 control options advanced menu brake and accell are still both on the y axis, z axis cannot be used. Exit gp4, Thrustmapper utility unlby mortal - Grand Prix 4
I made a new setup file and the results are the same, I cannot select the Z axis in the setup list of available axis, in fact the axis only works on the Y, both the brake and accel are stuck on the same axis. It's a clean install as well. Anyway for the time being I have reverted to the pre-patch decrypted no_cd exe and created a new con file which works on separate axis perfectly! And as anby mortal - Grand Prix 4
No go, windows can't see it as I'm now using usb compliant game device drivers ;-/, I dont want to strip the drivers just to get windows to see the crappy soundcard plugged joystick. As you say it must be something in gp4, it just cannot see the separate axis although they are definately there in controller options, sheesh. I have done the steps 1 and 2 and in the setup drop down axis mby mortal - Grand Prix 4
Way ahead of you M, done all of that, it just refuses to give me the z axis! This is in any config, hang on, just a thought, going to test a gameport joystick and see what happens, I'll be backby mortal - Grand Prix 4
Nooo not at all, I think there is many who have problems, lets face it it's GP4 after all and they made it difficult to edit on purpose, this will in the end only be detrimental to the game as users will move on, I'm already moving to TIR and back to ea's offerings, and there's a new fia gt mod just out by the sbd team which will keep me amused for a while . Anyway without theby mortal - Grand Prix 4
Think I will go with a new post seeking Thrustmaster Modena Pro users and see what comes back, what do you reckon? Do you think this is in the exe? I reverted to the v1 exe and immediately I had the 3 axis back in the right places x=steering, z= accel and y= brake <sigh>, could this be hacked with a hex editor? I haven't got a clue myself about this sort of arcane knowledge but just aby mortal - Grand Prix 4
Yes my friend, I have read that , the yes and no is rather strange and confusing isn't it, and mine is the Thrustmaster Ferrari 360 Modena Pro Wheel.by mortal - Grand Prix 4
My sympathies Larry, I have given up on it. I believe that Jon, aka Dumbass has something in the pipeline to make the job easier.by mortal - Grand Prix 4
I told you that already Razzy, looks like maybe you missed it...that oughta fix it for ya Say hi to yer mum for me, and Tara. okily dokilyby mortal - Grand Prix 4
Thanks for that Morbid, I was kind of on the right track, I've already been to Thrustmaster and have downloaded the 7.3mb installer file for the Thrustmapper software. I have created a GP4 Preset wich has forced the pedals to separate axis, ie: accel is z and brake is y. Then I set Thrustmapper to manual mode so this config preset would be permanent within Win98SE, I can use this same presetby mortal - Grand Prix 4
btw, they are already set to separate axis within control panel.by mortal - Grand Prix 4
You'll have to give sphosting a miss Dave, see Vader to get yr sicpig hosted. All he asks is for your soul in return, a rather reasonable request wouldn't you sayby mortal - Grand Prix 4
naaah, I'm seeing things, don'tcha hate replying to yer own post......yep, sure do ;-/by mortal - Grand Prix 4
Am I seeing things or maybe just veging out too much or is a topic header missing with only the authors name and number of replies on display?by mortal - Grand Prix 4
Hi there m8, I think there was a post on this but maybe I'm mistaken, anyway with a 9.6 decrypted exe my ferrari thrustmaster now no longer gives y and z axis for accell and brake. They are now both on the same axis. ;-/ I had a look at the link you passed out for the faq but I cant open the doc for some reason and the pdf link from this site is dead. I've pretty much tried everything bby mortal - Grand Prix 4

Have you edited the cards.txt? Have a look at it and see if it shows the new card.by mortal - Grand Prix 4
By the look of it once you have purchased the base users will be making the addons which will be free It says on the site that it's going to be edit friendly, and there will be a beta demo release in Jan 03. I haven't yet seen TIR in Aus.by mortal - Off-Topic
Or use Fraps, it also has configurable keys for this function and has a movie key mode as well And it also displays your framerate. Go get it!by mortal - Grand Prix 4
Judging by all the hassles a lot of users are having with it your not kidding, altho for me it was straight in and up and running, I think there was a performance gain but I have all the options cranked up now so hard to pick it really. I'm missing gpx_patch too but I'm betting sdi will port it to the new exe very soon, or at least I hope he will.by mortal - Grand Prix 4
