If anything it shows what an awesome computer you have Dave! Some very clean shots!

Is that overhead oval shot Bristol?

It is Bristol. My PC is nothing special btw. ATI 4850, AMD 64 3200. iRacings graphics engine isn't actually that nice. It is just NR2003s with some added shadows.

What makes it good is the detail and the shadows. I mean look at the kerb in the final shot. It looks fantastic. But it is just a simple texture, not a pretty graphics engine. Or the NASCAR Sprint Cup banner in the 3rd from bottom shot, how you can see the ripples and how it is nailed to the board behind. The Bristol shot, or the Daytona RC1 turn 1 shot the bits which make it good are the details. Check out the shadow of the Bristol scoring tower casting over the other buildings. Or look at the cockpit shot, how the central pillar in front of the window casts over the top of the dash.

Simple graphics engine with beautiful detail in the models and textures. The vast opposite of NR2003 and GPL, oddly.

After another look the attention to detail is amazing!

Are these mods official for iRacing and made by iRacing? Such as the Sprint Cup? Or have modding groups made them?

Also, that Bristol shot, can you have spectators? That would really be awesome!!

You get specators in the race. And a limited amount in qualifying. Testing is empty.

All content is made by iRacing. There is no 3rd party mods other than allowing new spotters.

Neil Stratton (Glyn) and I have just had a rather epic battle. So much so, it's time for one of our rather big videos.

Battle between 3 drivers for the lead - Neil Stratton (yellow Cheesemobile), Andre Boettcher (black and orange) and Gavin Wilson (red and white Not a Penske... sorry Dave ;)). Silverstone historic layout (the layout still available today) in Lotus 79s.

The final 3 laps, starting from when the leader, Neil, spins off at Luffield.

The winning margin was 0.069 - it's worth the download!

I've encoded it in 2 different formats. The first one, in MP4 almost-high definition, is obviously by far the better quality. The 2nd is the same video in standard XVID format, that anyone should be able to play.

120mb | 4:59 | 960x600 | MP4 high definition (download and install FFDShow if you can't view MP4 files, or play them in a video player such as VLC)
Right-click > Save target as

45mb | 4:59 | 640x400 | XVID
Right-click > Save target as

The first ever iRacing Pro Series Race took place tonight. I have qualified for the Road one.

The field leave the grid. I started 8th and am 3rd before turn 1. I'm cheekily passing David Sirois on the apron here.

Into turn 1. Ian Lake leads Chris Palmer. Following is myself, David Sirois, Ryan Murray, Philip Diaz and Frosty StClair.

The entire field around the first horseshoe.

The start of lap 2. I'm quickly creating a train of faster cars.

David Sirois passes me into the bus stop. Frosty would make a pass shortly afterwards.

Ryan Murray blows passed through the tri-oval.

From there I just had to keep the gap to George Kuyumji in 7th pegged to a few seconds and I finished a safe 6th.
