You thought it looked good? To me it looked like a box of ass. It amazes me people get paid to make games that look 4 years out of date.

Well I know it isn't comparable to Gran Turismo or F1 2010 but it does the job:

Dave,
If you want something bit like TOCA, the Race07/GTREvo isn't it?
I know it has a bit old compared to iRacing you play but it has some great Touring Cars (although I'm play more with GT cars or the Formula ones).

I will spend a bit in the end of this year with sim-racing, I plan to buy a new wheel (maybe Logitech GT), F1-2010 and GT5.

F1-2010 I hope at least it's not much different from F1CE (2006) for PS3 but in the perfect world I wish it would be like Rfactor with improved graphics and AI.

GT5 I'm expecting a fun game, but I'm worried about the new fictional tracks, I think they hired Tilke to design them!!!

WRC 2010 looks ok, but it doesn't look like much of a step up from WRC 4 or WRC: Rally Evolved from about 5 years ago, which isn't good.

If you compare Gran Turismo 5 to Gran Turismo 4 or F1 2010 to F1 2005, you can see the jump that should be made from different generations.

That's true. My point is the WRC doesn't look bad, it just isn't in the upper echelon of games these days. While looking for those photos I came across a DiRT 3 announcement and that may end up being THE rally game for 2010. That or the GT5 rally mode :P.

I'm not paying for those games because it's just rehashed content. Some crap car models and tracks that have been modifed from the original GTR ones and some pretty god awfuly made street circuits. You can tell the point where Simbin started hiring the FPS modders. AI is god awful as well. GTR Evo, for a dedicated sports car game, with no night racing or even endurance racing is pretty unforgivable given the engine supported it even back in the GTL day. Those games just aren't fun.

TOCA was amazing in a semi-arcade way, like F1 97. F1 2010 looks to be in the same vein as those and I'd love to see a modern TOCA game along the same lines.

My point is the WRC doesn't look bad

I think it looks like crap, especially for a game which only has to do 1 car on the track at a time. The game play videos are hilarious, the cars drive like they do in GRiD.

It's an odd time in gaming where Codemasters appear to be doing it right, and others doing it wrong. Maybe we'll be on the way back to the glory days of Codemasters semi-arcade games. Those were awesome.

Hahahahaha. My nemesis has always been Coulthard for some reason, driving into me in GP4 and F1C in the past, luckily he's no longer on the grid ;).

I usually have problems with Villeneuve. Numerous races where he bumped into me at some point and ended up costing precious points :D

So Vettel will push you into the wall on the grid (and presumably lose the lead)...

Apparently, Jake Humphrey raced Hamilton at the Monza circuit on F1 2010, and they are going to show it during the bbc coverage for the Italian GP in 2 weeks time :)

heres a video of a wet Spa, plenty of spins, twitchiness and front wing damage

The reason the game freezes is its the XBOX version and it was over heating after being used for 3 days and on 12 hours per day apparently

That's typical XBox, LS ;).

This impressed me, I only found out which one was the game when the camera changed :P.

maes i think the "sneaky route" is there, Michael takes it, no?

anyway this game looks as it could be the perfect F1 game ever made yet, it's definitely setting a good standard for the future, and as the guy says, it can only improve, so that's a plus........ i'm definitely getting it, and i hope to stick to it and not throw it away as i did with the EA's games

One thing which has annoyed me a bit is the tracks. They aren't as accurate as they should be. Codemasters said they had perfect new techniques which were "better" than laser scanning. Complete BS as we all know, and was clearly done when they realised how expensive it was to scan tracks. But Spa was missing some run off. The run off at Les Combe was obviously the old run off (understandable), but it wasn't even accurate for that. So yeah, a little disappointed in that regard.
