Hehe, just realised that the H.264 version is actually larger than the MPEG2 version it was encoded from (might have used insane quality :D), so I've replaced that with the actually MPEG2 rip itself, which should be as good as the quality could get. :D

Hammond F1 Car
For many years Richard Hammond has suffered from a terrible affliction - his height. The reason he never got the job of presenting Film 2006 is that he can't see the screen in the cinema, and his life has been an endless succession of vertically challenged lost opportunities.

But now, at last, it's all come good. The body God gave him can go where Clarkson's double decker frame can't - right into the cockpit of a Formula One car. Now this film is really worth a watch.

What happened to this feature?? I was really looking forward to it.

it was after the Star in the Car and before the end bit of the limo feature, was only short, you must have missed it if you went for a piss-stop.

Eh?! I don't remember it! Pretty sure the old tank didn't need an empty. ;-)

I missed it too, and I was just eating crisps.

I was wondering, if anyone had a video of Rob Brydon on TG in series 3.

It had a little clip of him in a TV program which I found very funny, he was sat in a car talking about stuff he saw in the mirror.

All I have is a low-resolution (384x288) rip of the episode he was in (Series 3, episode 3, 9 November 2003), so I'll just link you to the torrent file FinalGear gives you. Same file as I've got I believe. Shame it's WMV, but there you go. :(

Saves me uploading 200mb, and cutting WMVs while retaining an already poor quality annoys me ;)

@ Marc, the show is called Marrion & Geoff/Jeff (don't know which spelling they use), in case you want to know.

While I remember, try to get a recording of The Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2006, of which Rob Brydon was one of the contestants. In all honesty, I think it's the funniest 2 hours entertainment I've ever seen. Grade A. I think it too is on Mininova.

i just read clarkson's column in the sun, and he says that top gear will not return in the summer, even though the announcer at the end of the show said it would.

i dont know, but this could be the end of top gear, if jeremy says it, it must be true :(

If it doesn't return is summer, he might mean it will return either late in spring or in autumn.

He didn't say it would be late though - there wasn't anything to suggest it wouldn't be early ;)

I don't get the Sun (frankly, who does ;)), but I've read the article on the Finalgear forums. It could be any number of things. A return to 10 episodes (given the American convert isn't working, apparently), meaning more filming. Taking things easy on Hammond, not rushing him into doing too much. I don't believe he's not done any real driving yet, and doubt he'd be allowed to do any proper track tests yet.

It might even have just been a reference to the Top Gear of the Pops next weekend for Comic Relief, which McFly are supposed to be on. Normally that would make me die a little bit, but Jezza giving his personal views on McFly? That I've got to see. :D

Hammond gave another hint in his column in The Mirror that there will indeed be a performance from the 3 of them - the fact that James May has a degree in some musical thing (more specifically piano if I remember correctly) helps.
