The camera zoomed out slightly just as it hit and so thats why in the first pic you posted there's no forest (shrubbery? I dont think it was forest) and in the second picture there is. There would've been enough residue left in the fuel tank to provide a sizeable explosion. You don't need massive amounts to create an explosion. It looked genuine enough to me. Why can't some people just enjoy the scenes without subjecting them to an in-depth analysis?
