Am I right in saying that this bug can also be contributed to the track slot used on the mod? I remember from my race director days that in certain track slots there are particular errors that occur - engine failures tend to happen consistently to specific drivers for example? I didn't look into this too much but was simply wondering if the races this season have all been run in the same track slot?

I'd say that's a no, Tom - the trackpack has each track in the specific slot in the calendar (i.e. Melbourne slot 1, Surfer's Paradise slot 2, Suzuka slot 3 etc.).

I'd say it's just horrendously bad luck.

EDIT: Activity deadline has passed, people! Report up in a few moments :)

GPGSL Activity Check Report

The activity check for the date range 12/01/12 (9PM) - 22/01/12 (9PM) has been completed.

Three drivers will be penalised for their inactivity:

Christian Dux (Scuderia Minardi) - Last Post "January 05, 2012 08:21AM"
Chris Stokel (MAC Racing) - Last Post "December 27, 2011 11:20AM"
Josh Mertz (Martini Paddock Racing) - Last Post "January 11, 2012 01:03AM"

Mertz and Dux are on their first warning, so thus will receive 20 point penalties.
Stokel is on his second warning, and will receive a further 20 point penalty. For the next two races, it will not be possible for MAC Racing to have Stokel as their race driver.

All penalties will be applied for the next race at Montreal.

Out of interest dean (this isnt an official protest or anything ;-)), but does Christian (reve-san) referring to another thread where he indicates he will be inactive not count as holiday notification? Just to clarify thats all :)

It's a grey area, by all means - but apart from anything else, he said he would be 'less active', not inactive.

Here's the post he made on the GP2 Manager thread:

Quote
Reve-san
Hey guys. I´m so sorry to disappoint you again, but several reasons are keeping me from doing the coverages: First of all, a colleague of me has holidays since last week, so I need to do double the work then normal. Second, I´ll be replaced at the beginning of february and will then only have to work one or two days a week. While this might seem good for the manager, it is absolutely bad for me personal, so I hope everyone of you understands if I spend more time writing applications than working on the manager.

pycku schrieb:

Third: My girlfriend wants to spend a LOT of time with me lately, so I´ve only been home on tuesday this week, and will probably just be home at saturday. So, negotiations results will be up this weekend.

As for the silverstone race: If you don´t mind, I can just upload the results, which will spare me about 3 hours of work. I was so intelligent to save the whole results on my phone, so I would be able to do that from my girlfriend with no problems.

I'm not convinced that it counts as a 'holiday' personally (which will definitely sound harsh, considering he's my team-mate).

Others may disagree. I'm open to discuss it, though. :)

Yeah, it's quite an interesting point. He did mention it, but he should have just quickly mentioned it here. It would be quite harsh to penalise him, but then again rules is rules.

Compromise with a warning perhaps, send him a PM saying that he needs to just take 5 minutes to pop a post in, and this should fix the situation. My 2 cents on the matter...

In my view, that seals it. Less active is not the same as inactive.

Nice thought there, but he hasn't been on for 15 days. Knowing my luck, his inbox will be full ;)

Personally, the fact that he posted a note on here was fine enough (after all, PMs to me, Marko, the GPGSL account etc. count as holiday notice - so a note saying check the other thread wouldn't be an issue, to me).

The issue I have is the content of what he said. He never said he would be 'inactive' - just 'less active'. In my eyes, it is as Chris has said in the post above. 'Less active' is not the same as 'inactive', and never will be.

...no OP view for the moment - sound issues hot

In light of this, I guess the full penalty should perhaps apply then...

Looking forward to the video coverage! Tis hard work to make a video, i know that for sure.

On the point i raised above, i agree about the penalty, no offence to christian, but i think the fact that he stated he could post the results from his phone if he needed too kinda shows he could post from his phone, and of course he never stated he would be inactive, only less active. Was simply clarifying a possible argument point :)

The 3 driver screenshots near the end 'change' with each round (R1 had me, Danny Thomas and Chris Hinz - never got around to doing ones for R2 and R3) :)

Glad you like it though :)

If my opinion matters i'd like to share it with you all.

I saw the post of Christian where he stated he would be 'less-active.' I already had a bad feeling about this.
Christian should have known that if he would not be posting in the activity check window he SHOULD tell us about it in this forum. There's no reason to refer us to another forum. He could have simply copied pasted the message he wrote in the other forum part.

Mabey it's my fault for not pm'ing him about this when i saw the message earlier. Given he didnt say he would be on holidays given he did say he would be LESS active instead of NOT ACTIVE at all. I think a penaltie should be applied here.
We dont want rumours where Dean is said to be protective of the drivers of the team he's in. We don't want anyone able to say its not fair for a new member to be inactive without a penalty and someone who is in for years gets -20 perf points.

I am sorry for Christian that he has to learn the specifics of this rule the hard way but we do need to keep everything justified for every single member of the series.

I'm really sorry Christian ! Just thought i should need to express my opinion aswell.
