Round 16 - Japan/Suzuka - Championship Standings

Ladies and gentlemen, we have brought forward the launch date of the car that our team will be racing next season. As Austria has pulled out it's backing, the next race will be the last in our current guise.

We move onto a new dawn and a new era, hopefully one that will bring us prosperity and the resources to challenge for the Nations Cup.

So without further ado, let us reveal our challenger for Spain in next year's championship:

Hopefully with our strong backing from huge multinational corporations such as Telefónica and Santander, in addition to the Andalucia tourist board and other businesses represented in our vast collection we can provide the people of Spain something to cheer for.

Our driver will be Diego Álvarez, a young driver with plenty of talent and speed. He brings sponsorship from El Corte Inglés, the large Spanish retail company.

The helmet he will use is here; it bears the Andalucian flag at the back to show his roots and clearly uses the flag of Spain.

Thank you for attending, enjoy your evening!

(Special thanks to JohnMaverick for the tasty renders :))

Great statistics Maikel. It is rather interesting though that we had 12 different winners already this season. That clearly doesn't coincide with my personal feeling about it, I though it would have been way less!

I agree, it will be really hard to enter into points. All we can hope is that Nikolov shows his brilliant skill and make the impossible to finish as higher as possible.
i think all i can hope is that my rivals dont do any good

Hear it is the first day in the conclusion of season 2 Nations Cup championship. We are at the gorgeous (this track is beautiful) Abu Dhabi circuit or the World GP with the title still on the line.

The weather is great today so lets see these men go at it for pole

Hunsley puts in the first time and we will have to see how that looks as the rest flood in

Marinescu next over is way off

Vilela shades Hunsley as the third man over

Silva comes in just behind both of them but not by much

Antunis could not have gone closer to not taking provisional pole

Tafuro is behind all of them but Marinescu

Kederer comes in and sets a much better marker

I say that and McGregor goes and thrashes everyone so far

Only for Maverick to nick that as we seem to have fallen to the likely pole time

Alpenstrom comes in provisional third which is great for Sweden

Kamikaze comes in right behind Alpenstrom

Nikolov is a second back of all this but has 6th for now

Girard is off in 12th trying to save his third place in the championship

Edvardsen and Johnson come in 6th and 7th respectively

De Boer comes in third and takes that away from Alpenstrom

The last real time of the first runs is Vukcevic who goes into 6th

Standings with those first runs completed

As people come out for there next runs its Hunsley who gets into the top ten

Marinescu gets out of last place up to 20th

Girard also improves to 16th

Copeman gets himself deep into the midfield

Johnson makes a couple of places to go 7th

Seems like a duplicate but no Vukcevic takes back 6th place

Does not stop him getting in a few peoples way on the third run

Hunsley wanting that tenth place badly

Jantsher moves into 5th

Byrne and Brilley making some moves at the rear of the field

Nikolov splits the field in half

Standings with time for one last run for everyone

We have news on circuit that De Boer is going very quickly in sector one and two!

Jantsher goes into third ahead of De Boer and Alpenstrom

That does not matter to De Boer who takes pole

Girard makes an improvement to 17th in a struggling qualification

Edvardsen moves into the top ten at the death

Maverick could not retake the pole position

Alpenstrom also fails to improve

Copeman takes 9th in the scrap up top

Vukcevic is the last man over today and fails to improve

Here are your official standings and the championship race is definitely not over yet!

YES YES YES!! Thats 1 point in the bag :) It's looking quite well! Too bad France and Germany won't make real threats to Sweden, who done remarkably well in 5th with half boost! This championship is going down to the wire!

Team Switzerland press release after their last qualifying in the GPGSL

Obviously we're very happy that we were able to show people that we still can fight for the big points, in qualifying at least. But then again we already had quite some good qualifyings this season and lost it all again in the race. For the sake of fairness, we really hope that at least in this very last race for Team Switzerland, something like this won't happen again and we might be able to bring home a podium finish for an end.

Also we are obviously not very happy with Team Netherlands snatching the pole from us. A pole would have been very nice, of course. But then Team Netherlands is still fighting for the championship and they need any point they can get if they want to be able to snatch away the crown from Team Sweden.

For this we wish all contenders good luck but we will keep our fingers crossed for Netherlands, simply because we can't stand ABBA ;) This does not mean though that our driver, John Maverick, won't attack Team Netherlands if he gets the chance for it. We want a win for a good end and if this goes on cost of Team Netherlands championship hopes, we will be sorry for it but won't be able to change it.

France - Qualifying review....

Well, our man Jean Girard has given himself a LOT of work to do in the race to try and take the championship. We will do everything we can to provide Jean, and our proud country, the best outcome in this season finale. The French team is incredibly proud of our achievements this season, and hope to finish the season on a good note.
We wish all our competitors good luck, and may the best nation win. And then, we can't wait until the start of the next season!

Team Bulgaria statement

Decent job done by Nikolov today. In what was believed to be hard qualificaiton for us, he proved it so. 12th is not where we like to be, but considering our budget for the last race (we had the least performance boost from all 22 nations) 12th is not that bad. At least it is not far from points.

The tension is as high as you can cut it with a knife so it is possible some accidents to happen. The fact that Girard is 17th and he is mad does not help at all ;)

At the end of this statement I wish to say it was very interesting season and we are more than happy to be here! Good luck to everyone (and we hope the best luck is for Nikolov, of course) and we will see what will happen.

About the championship battle - Sweden beat our football team everytime, Netherlands seemed a little more hospitable last time, so we will keep our fingers crossed for them. However, Sweden showed real consistency this year, finishing 3 times on the top of the podium, so they deserve the title, too.

But let us not lose more time speaking bullshits... So... gentlemen, start your engines!
Interesting stuff going off at the front of the field, should be a fascinating race :D.

7th is pretty decent, i can get some good points from there. We will have to see...

Definitely not what I hoped for... will do my best now to get more points than France to get 3rd place in the championship.
