No boost so im predicting a very quiet race over at the Montenegro garage. Don't be surprised if you see our mechanics on the big wheel during the race.

Its the penultimate round of the Nations Cup. We are in Japan. Can Alpenstrom put himself into position to win the championship in the race. Lets find out.

The weather is terrible today and its not going to get any dryer during qualifying

Hunsley sets the marker time today

Which is toppled by Marinescu

Vilela destroys that

Only to see Silva go a fraction faster

The next man along Antunis sets an even better time

Before Tafuro is the first to disappoint

Alpenstrom puts in a solid time to go provisional second

Before Maverick right behind him takes the pole

Only for a few seconds before Kamikaze crosses the line

Edvardsen shades ahead of Maverick to move into second

De Boer so very nearly takes pole

That is a terrible lap by Johnson

It is because he spun it that could cost him with the weather being so bad

It hurts Brilley and Byrne though

Standings with the first runs all completed

The track has got much worse and noone is improving

Well one man does and that is Johnson who gains one spot

With the rain tumbling down noone can improve on their laptimes and so its just a run around although a few people get a bit lively

So here are your official standings

Satisfied with 4th. That gives a good chance for another podium before the season ends.

Not a terrible session...hoped for a little more but there's potential for a decent race.

Not good, now we need a little miracle in the race.

Unless I'm very much mistaken... I am very much mistaken!
Very good second place :) Too bad Sweden is in 5th! Dissapointing to see Germany behind Sweden, so it might be up to us to hold Sweden from claiming the title here!!

11th is not the best place to start from, but it is just behind places that will bring us some points. With good pace and the right strategy we can do it for top 8 finish, which will be our aim. Go on, Nikolov!
Frustrated to have had a wet Qualifying. Our French team had been planning and hoping for a dry session, to allow the boost to power us along this fantastic circuit.....
10th place is tolerable for now. We shall see how we go in the race, and then maybe get our man Girard in for some contract talks....

12th without boost is a so and so result, hoping in a better development in race...

It is race time in Suzuka. We had a wet qualifying but that is not going to matter to much since the weather is not much better today

And with that its go here in Suzuka and Edvardsen finds himself blocked out of going right up the middle of the front two

Its De Boer who takes the lead into the first corner

Jantsher has had a great start

He has done what Bautista did in the Moto GP and gone into turn one too fast and he collects Maverick

Who brings the championship leader with him!

Maverick forces himself back in with the pack as everyone is bumping and jostling in the first couple of corners

Byrne ended up running off in all the confusion

Tafuro tucks up the inside of Girard

But Girard fights back to take it back

Nikolov tries to go around the outside

McGregor tries this too

Nikolov could not hang on around the edge whereas McGregor does make the move

Edvardsen pulls up alongside Kamikaze

He looks to dive up the inside at 130R

Kamikaze shows some real kamikaze spirit staying with him around the outside to keep the place

Maverick goes around the outside of Copeman

Silvestre runs wide but keeps ahead of Nikolov. It has a knock on effect further back as Marinescu and Kederer squabble

Marinescu should leave Kederer some room and they collide

The log jam means Copeman bumps Johnson who connects with Maverick

And its Maverick and Marinescu who suffer from that

Both men rejoin the circuit right in front of Alpenstrom

Kederer on the start of the next lap runs wide though and rejoins the circuit after his trip through the gravel in 18th

Standings after the madness of lap 1

Silva has a look at the inside of Edvardsen but thats all it will be

Nikolov goes around the outside of Vilela

Hunsley makes the move on Vukcevic

Who appears to be struggling in the wet as he locks up and slides off the circuit before the chicane

Into that chicane Hunsley runs it wide

It gives Johnson a chance to make a move at turn 1 which he makes

Vukcevic ends up rejoining in last

Silvestre passes Vilela at 130R seeing some stones in the wet today

Hunsley holds off Copeman

Silva does around the outside of Edvardsen

We see Jantsher taking Byrne as he tries to work his way back through the field

Hunsley again holds of Copeman he just refuses to let the American past

Alpenstrom takes Maverick further down the field as he is looking to get his second hand on the title

Only to have Maverick fight back and take it away from him as both men hope for a way back today

Jantsher pulls out of Brilley's slipstream

And makes the pass and looks to push on

While Brilley falls to Byrne but there is contact

Maverick has to swerve to avoid Brilley

Alpenstrom connects with Kederer

And again Maverick is spun around its been a terribly unfortunate day for Switzerland so far

Girard goes around the outside of Edvardsen for 4th

Alpenstrom makes a mistake in the poor conditions

He is back on circuit in front of Vukcevic

Johnson takes the tenth spot by passing Silvestre up the inside

Has Copeman finally made his way by Hunsley

The answer to that would be no still not quite able to pass him

He has a go into the chicane and comfortably makes the pass

Jantsher might be able to follow him through

Hunsley gets a better drive out of the chicane and manages to stop himself dropping another place

A loose wheel strikes for Silvestre and he is forced to retire

Jantsher does pass Hunsley further around the circuit though

Silva takes a defensive line to keep Girard at bay

Johnson goes around the outside of McGregor now as he continues his climb

Girard used the slipstream of Silva to make the pass at 130R

Edvardsen is making a dive on Silva in an attempt to get back the place at the chicane but Silva having the inside on the second part and the better drive hangs on

Girard wastes no time closing in on Kamikaze and is alongside the Japanese driver on the way to spoon

And makes the pass at Spoon

Johnson still on the attack is alongside Nikolov

And they are still alongside eachother as we come to the chicane

Johnson will have to yield though and wait for a better spot

Hunsley not able to put up the usual defence we seen at 130R and Kederer goes by him

Alpenstrom takes Marinescu at turn one as a dry line starts to appear

Maverick follows him through shortly after

Standings with ten laps gone and the pit stops to come

Time for a break The next two parts will be up tomorrow

Awesome showing so far from Jean Girard! Keep it up......1st place is ours for the taking!!!

nooo its going down to last race, i hope some nordic god stops the Netherlands :P

What shall I say to this. Again we have a good pace, again we had a good position, again we were up to grab a bunch of points and again everybody seems to think that white cross on the Swiss car is a target. I guess it is a good decision to quit the series after this season. At least this way people will end to shoot at our car.

GPGSL : Team Owner of 'Maverick Track Performance' (MTP)
Bad weather and a bad pace.

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
Welcome back it is time for the second part of our rainy weekend in Japan

It is time for pit stops and it is McGregor who pits first out of the top of the field

And rejoins 14th

Its not long before the leader pits

In fact we are seeing the rest of the top ten save for Antunis

So De Boer rejoins in second with Antunis now holding the lead

Girard and Kamikaze rejoin as is from before the pit stops

In fact so do the two pairs of Silva and Edvardsen and Tafuro and Johnson

Nikolov keeps ahead of McGregor who suffered a little traffic on his outlap which probably kept him behind the Bulgarian

We are seeing McGregor and Copeman pit again

De Boer makes the move on Antunis to recapture the lead

At the end of the lap though De Boer and Antunis collide but no damage as De Boer tries to pit

We see others pitting again perhaps due to confusion over the track conditions. We are seeing dry lines

As Antunis goes back into the lead

De Boer is out in 4th

And Maverick who has not flinched in all this comes up to 6th

Johnson manages to come out just in front of Hunsley for the tenth spot and in fact beat Tafuro in the pits this time

Antunis finally pits leaving Kamikaze to take over the lead

Maverick also decides to make his first stop today

Antunis finds himself in second

Edvardsen leapfrogs ahead of Silva

And Maverick takes up the final point place for now

Kamikaze pits from the lead

As Johnson takes an off road trip gifting the spot back to Tafuro

Antunis has the lead yet again

Kamikaze rejoins and is within touching distance of Girard and De Boer

Kederer takes 13th from Vilela at 130R

Tafuro is struck with a transmission failure and thats the end for him today

Johnson enjoyed it so much the first time he felt like doing it again dropping more places

Girard has gone around the outside as we have seen a lot today at 200R

De Boer has a think about passing back but is just too far away

Antunis pits again from the lead

Girard has the lead for the first time today

Maverick pits again from 8th

Antunis rejoins in 6th and will be happy with how that has all worked out

Jantsher now takes the final points scoring place

Since Maverick is now in 14th place after the stop

After the mess of pit stops here are the standings

Silva got a wheel on the grass and is sent sideways

And comes to a stop in the gravel

Girard has been slowly pulling out a lead

Silva is back on circuit way down in 18th

Kederer moves into 10th because of the Silva mistake

Maverick wants points today and is going around the outside of Copeman

Alpenstrom makes it past Hunsley and is still looking to claw his way into the points

Maverick is blisteringly quick right now

Whereas Alpenstrom has much to make up on his next target

Jantsher and Nikolov are side by side through 130R

Its only until Nikolov had to yield at the chicane that Jantsher could claim 7th

Maverick shoots around the outside of Kederer to move into the points

Girard makes Vukcevic the first man to be lapped

Silva has himself in a fight with Byrne

Neither man budging through spoon

But Silva manages to utilise the inside line and get back something he lost but it is almost impossible to get back up there now

Especially since Byrne plans to fight back for his spot

Time for the final break before the conclusion of the 16th round of the nations cup

Go Girard!!!!! Viva la France!!!!
