I'm still having troubles with my invisible tarmac. I changed Montreal to it's 88-93 layout. The tarmac disappears where the pitlane sectors start. I didn't change the pitlane nor the end of the track. I've just added two corners at the back straight.

I did the 'deleting the last sector(s)' trick but that didn't work either.

At this moment I've run out of options. I'd be happy if someome would take a look at it. Just PM me for the files.

i've had terrible binb problems, with tarmac coming and going pretty randomly :|

good to hear you're doing some tracks Erik - looking forward to it ;-)

erik, did you delete the last sector, create the bin, and remade the last sector? Or did you leave it out?

I already suggested that Maverick, that's what he's saying isn't working. The only thing I can think of that could be causing a problem, is that the .gp4 tarmac doesn't match the .bin mesh. Erick, NS and b-tone, try deleting all your track sectors and adding track from .dat, and see what happens

Dave,
I did everything right: deleting sectors, adding sectors, moving sectors around...

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I've checked the updated Monaco, Magnycours and Hockenheim but I couldn't find a clue. Only Hockenheim kept it's original pitlane and that one works.

Tony,
It was about time I was into track editing as well!

Jimbob solved my problem. It was indeed the .gp4 tarmac. I did not change anything in the gp4 file... It works now so I'm on my way rebuilding the scenes to fit the new layout.

I said it was .gp4 tarmac in the "new new thread" and here, never mind ;)

I've got a problem. I have made a 3ds file from my circuit dat, but if i want to import the 3ds file from my circuit dat in ZModeler, he doesn't see the file. If i type the name of the 3ds file manually ZModeler say's that the file doesn't have a 3ds filter. Hopefully can someone create a gp4 file from the 3ds file for me, this is my dat file: CIRCUIT

Thanks in advance.

I have a problem, I created the GP4 file and stuff but in the headmenu when I click drive the game freezes up and doesn't respond no more. Any ideas? It was after I created the GP4 file from the 3DS file

Was the "how to edit a track in 60 minutes" tutorial ever done? If not I would b greatfull if someone could do one :) As I don't think I have the time or skill to do a whole track, but doing like old layouts for tracks already in the game could be done fairly easily I think?

Cheers, Daniel.

maverick spent time putting together a guide for the new wanna be track editor & it's on the first page of this forum...you need to read this carefully & try to read 3d editors guide as well from lo2k.....

yes, I know, this is a guide for making a track from scratch, he was talking about doing one for editing tracks rather than making new ones from scratch - as I had asked him about that in this topic somewhere if you look ;)

Well, if you succesfully make a track from scratch there's no reason why you couldn;t make a new layout. It's like if you learn to ride a bicycle, you automaticly know how to ride a tricycle :) get my drift?
