Yes, I'm doing that also this way. I even create cc-line corner by corner - this needs more time but the result is much better.

I ain't worrying about ANY kins of scenery atm, but seeing the track layout would help...

Have you made a .bin? Are you using 15.8?

Make sure you have imported the track / pitlane from .dat in the .gp4 and given everything the correct textures. If you've made kerbs, put those in a different scene to the rest of the track, and make sure you put the right .gp4 in the wad :)

open the dat file you modified,,, create bin files... make sure the save location for these files is the unzipped wad you are using... in the maps folder /track name.... convert dat to col save in same location as bin files...
save.... then .open the gp4 file in the wad you are using.. create new scene. add track from dat / add pitlane from dat in the new scene ...create another new scene .add kerbs from dat...then ,,,delete all other scenes....

apply the tex files for the track/ pitlane /kerbs /banks etc....save.. re zip wad...
run gp4.... cross fingers........ don't forget to place a copy of the dat file in the same folder as the col & bins........

It was going very well until this:

I added a new scene and deleted all the other ones, and I was about to add track from dat / add pitlane in the new scene when that happened. The option wasn't available.

Thanks for all you help, I now have a working track.

Next question :P

How do I get rid of bugs like this?

And how do I get tarmac on the track?

HUGE thanks in advance.

P.S. OMG Turn 6 is the most difficult corner I've ever driven! Do you take it flaat down or don't you! With a concrete wall right on the outside atm there's a large price to pay if you get it wrong believe me!

With every problem solved, a new one is born.

I have no dodgy objects on the tarck now. Great. :D

I also have tarmac, until half way around sector 3 where as you can see, it switches to back to dark gray...nothing.

I also have no white line on the LEFT hand side of the track where tarmac IS present.

By the way zepplin...i figured out why people put dat file in with the gp4 one...if you create more than one scene..track/pitlane in first....go to second to add different track objects fine..... if the dat file isn't present in some scenes you have no track outline to place objects too ie.. no track outline/shape ??????????
