The Official Hungarian Grand Prix 2009 Thread **SPOILERS**

Yup. Hearing two different stories. One the all clear, no serious injury and then Daves story of skull injury... We will have a clear picture later on but I do hope it is not a fracture/injury :(

Also, my extremley rough calculations put Button as about 24Kg heavier than Vettel which is about 9-10 laps... But as I said, rough and that probably isnt the case. Its just me hoping.

"Trulli was slowing down like he wanted to have a picnic" LOL
it missed his eyes by a bit... few mts later and he would've switch his head to the left...... very lucky...

go Felipe and come back stronger, just like Michael :p
I don't think he was braking at all points when that video showed he was - his head didn't really move forward at all, and it certainly should have, or at least jerked. Clearly he was fully on the brakes later on, but I'm not sure it was voluntary. Frankly it looked like he was have convulsions judging by his hands and infrequent unlocking of the brakes.

I seriously doubt that RTL claim about the nature of any fracture - that's a very specific diagnosis only half an hour after the crash (and about 15-20 minutes after he'd been in the medical centre).

Wishing him the best of luck. That's a nasty mark on his face at a very delicate point, and the helmet looks bad too, though it does seem intact. Half an inch lower and he'd not be with us at all.
Chet, look at the link, seems like only a cut..

if that's true its a very risky move, considering the difficulty of overtaking. If Kovalainen or Raikkonen holds him up while the Red Bulls pull away, it could be terrible for his race.

Alonso, or Hamilton, if he's first on the first corner could hold a lot of people as well

OH @#$%&!

That's a heavy hit. Thank fully it was on the main helmet and not the visor, if it was it'd been the worst news after last week. Thank fully he's ok
Thanks Iceman, but there's no need for the sarcasm - you and i know that it's probably only a cut, but my son doesn't and i don't really want him seeing it - this is a family forum, after all.

Also, if it turns out to be more than a little cut, you'll look silly ;)

Hamilton is on the dirty side of the road though (and Vettel for that matter). However, there is a long run to the first corner, and i would be surprised if he doesn't get past at least one of the red bulls.

I'll keep the sarcasm :P

It seems that thing hit him over the visor.

My God, Felipe was lucky. Disturbing image indeed.

Maybe he is still a chance of racing tomorrow then, although i would say it is very unlikely.

Well it sucks because Rafaela is pregnant. :/

No way, I'd say. He won't race again till Valencia at the earliest.

More closely...

What's that got to do with anything?

And, looks like it will be a Badoer driving for the team. Or will it be someone else like when they Brought in Salo to drive for the team when Michael had his injuries. And yes Felipe is not driving tomorrow, Mr James Allen has confirmed it

[bit.ly]

No way in hell. Even if he's up and about tomorrow, he seems to have been at least concussed and the risk of second-impact syndrome is too high to put him back in the car.
yes, the more i think about it - it would be absolutely stupid, and there is no point risking him at all.

however, with a 4 week gap before Valencia, i think he would be a very good chance of recovering by then

Couldn't have happened in a worse hour for her and Felipe's family.
