I always used to get the same problem in GP2, in fact - they'd always seem to have much better acceleration. In the end, i fixed it by using Paul Hoad's track editor, and decreased the cc car grip on each trackby senninho - Grand Prix 3
i seem to agree with most people here - i find a car is at it's best when i can brake all the way into the corner - a little oversteer makes it more interesting. Interestingly, i did a Racing Scholarship in 2001, and the instructor said my driving style reminds him of one certain Mr Senna against whom he raced in FFord in 1981... That certainly boosted my ego! :D But then again, having thby senninho - Grand Prix 4
It's from Autosport, and their journos are generally good with their sources. And bear in mind that Ferrari own Fiorano, it was only Ferrari testing there, and the Tifosi would set fire to the nearest town if it was any slower.by senninho - F1
That's good, but how do i... :P Seriously, this is a really good thing - can we sticky posts in this forum? If not, maybe you should publish it.by senninho - Grand Prix 3
Taken from Autosport.com: "Juan Pablo Montoya set the fastest time on the fourth day of testing at the Paul Ricard circuit in France today (Friday), but it was Alex Wurz who stole the show, setting the second quickest time in the new McLaren MP4-18A. After encountering reliability gremlins for the first two days of its running, Wurz was finally allowed to push the new MP4-18A harder today.by senninho - F1

@ianwoollam, thanks for the advice, but i have GP4 9.6 and gpxpatch 3.33 does not seem to like it (invalid .exe). D'ya think it would work with a newer version?by senninho - Grand Prix 4
WOW! This is a fantastic WAD, even more so because it's still a beta. Well done to everyone involved. Just one thing though - i use a keyboard, and it changed the key assignments for some reason - brakes are normally z, but they change to y. even when i made a custom set up, they changed back. Otherwise, (i'm getting the esc key crash too, but that's already been brought up), theby senninho - Grand Prix 4
I'd like to test it if possible, but i can't acutally find a download page! is this just me not looking hard enough? /edit ignore me, i didn't read the original post properly! *slaps self with wet fish* Post Edited (05-22-03 18:18)by senninho - Grand Prix 4
um... weren't they just giving the car a shakedown? To be more precise, they were doing system checks and stuff to make sure that, when they do try some fast laps, the car won't break. I'd say we're gonna have to wait a bit longer for the true potential - not even the MP4/4 was fast right away!by senninho - F1
Heh... Anyone remember Forti? the team that Pedro Diniz's dad bought him so he could race! The first car (1995) had a fully manual gearbox - not even sequential, and they drivers were regularly told to pull out with 'electrical problems' to save on engine rebuilds. Interestingly, i'm doing a Formula Ford scholarship in July, and the finalists get to drive the 1996 Forti! I dby senninho - F1
it does... although i did something (can't remember what) with speed limits, and now all the CC cars do 50mph and i do 60! And yes, apart from the speed limiter, it's not worth the £15 they wanted for it. ...but then again, i only paid £5by senninho - Grand Prix 3
There was a 'non-official' update released in the uk, shortly before GP3-2000. This updated with Sepang, new Monza and also had a (basic) careditor. This allowed you to edit pit lane speed. I think it was called something like Perfect Grand Prix track pack or something... Anyways, if enough people want it, i'll burn an image of the CD to my FTPby senninho - Grand Prix 3
i can't believe how he just sat there through that, and then went on to demolish the lap record. I'm not a Schuey fan, but even i'll admit that was a stunning drive. As for McLaren, i really think they need to get that new car out soon - they can just about keep up now, but for how long. Alonso deserves a mention, too - a stunning drive until he brolke down. One other thing - ifby senninho - F1
i have a better idea... instead of dropping Barcelona, Magny Cours or the A1 ring, how about: Spain: Montjuich Park - One of the best street circuits ever. France: Paul Ricard - 'Nuff said or Dijon-Prenois: Remember Villeneuve and Arnoux? Austria: Bring back the Osterreichring!!! :Pby senninho - F1
Yeah, where they took over Benetton they just use their factory. It's near Enstone, but i can't remember exactly where Enstone is...Vader wrote: > I didn't know Renault was an England-based team. > > []Monaco has no income tax that's why everyone that has a > load of dosh end up there. > > They won't let you in without the dosh in the first place. &gby senninho - F1
That's a good artice - it really makes you think! Well done for finding it. However, they have made one discrepancy - all F1 cars MUST run on 'pump' petrol - that is to say, any kind of non-standard fuel is banned, and has been since Canada 1994. So, it should be perfectly possible to run your F2003-GA off of normal Super Unleaded, but probably wouldn't do it much good in theby senninho - F1
i just downloaded the Williams FW16 after seeing the shots in here, but am a bit confused about how to install it. everyone seems to be installing it in place of Arrows, but all the files are Ferrari. What do i have to rename to what to install in different places? i'm using WadUpdater, if that helps. Also, how can i get new helmets into the game? apparently the easiest way is with Gp4 mastby senninho - Grand Prix 4
Fisico, I have a similar spec pc to you (see sig), and i get about 30fps in 1024x768 - pretty darn good. I would suggest that you upgrade (or downgrade) the drivers for your GF4. i use 30.82 - went down from the latest ones (40.something) and it really made a difference. I think the newer drivers are designed for the Ti series cards. On the subject of upgrades - a)more RAM is the cheapest optionby senninho - Grand Prix 4

Ok, this taken from Autosport.com today: Outspoken BAR star Jacques Villeneuve has slammed safety at the Paul Ricard test track in France, and has said that he doesn't know why team's bother to test at the track. "We did some tyre work but it doesn't help much because the asphalt is so different from any of the circuits we race on," he told autosport.com. "Also, soby senninho - F1
"i'd love to post a copy of my WAD" By that, do you mean put a copy of it up here to download, or just pictures or something? Hotmail (last time i checked) lets you attach a 1.5mb fileby senninho - Grand Prix 4
Vader is right, the only way to play multiplayer seems to be on a LAN. it's even weirder because you have to use tcp/ip on the lan, which is the same protocol used on the internet anyway. it think the main reason it can't be played over the net is the amount of data transfer involved - my LAN at home is 10mb/s, and i still get the occasional bit of lag.by senninho - Grand Prix 3
yup, it seems that leaving the computer overnight fixes it. Strange i know, but it's happened a few times more since my first post and on each occasion it seems to fix it. maybe it's a problem with some of the files in the GP3 directory being updated. Still, it's reassuring to know i'm not alone in this problem. Hopefully someone will be able to give us a definate answer!by senninho - Grand Prix 3
Right, i've just gone back to GP3 after GP4 (keeps randomly crashing), and i've remembered a problem i always used to have, but never fixed. Basically, when i import a new carset using gp3edit, from the outside it looks fine, but from the cockpit or on-board cam views, the tyre textures are all wrong - it looks like the car texture has been wrapped around them! Anyone else have this proby senninho - Grand Prix 3
Germany don't 'officially' get 2 races. The one at the Nurburgring is (for reasons best known by Bernie) called the European GP, though i'm not sure why. It was also called the Luxembourg GP a couple of years ago. Germany haven't always hogged it, though - in 1993 the European GP was held at Donington Park, and in the early 80's the British GP was held at Silverstoneby senninho - F1
I use 30.82 drivers - got them last night and changed from the latest ones, and you really can see the difference on a gf4mx440. Where is it that you get the 31.00 drivers from? are they compatible with xp?by senninho - Grand Prix 4
thanks, i had a feeling that could've been the problem, but is there any way to get round the fact that it then tell me it can't find the file to replace? I have tried GP4Master but that tells me gp4.exe is the wrong size, even though it is decrypted!by senninho - Grand Prix 4
