Cobian Backup
Imho, this is a nice piece of software. It's easy to configure, can do Volume Shadow Copies, easy to recover (just copy files to destination) and it compresses the files with 7zip if you like.
From what I've seen so far, I'd recommend it.
Also it uses a mushroom icon, who can say no to that?

F1 If you like some keys with it too, maybe this would work .
But I'd think running a softsynth shouldn't be a problem for your machine, but from what I've seen MIDI ports are less common nowadays.
So something like this should be sufficent and knowing you're a musician I'd assume you wouldn't mind using it for some recording too. Oh, and it has Windows 7 driver s

Off-Topic drive snapshot seems to be ok. not freeware though, 30-day trial, which means it just does restore your images after the trial period.

i love that vodka. apart from its taste, they got nice bottles too (like absolut, but not that overpriced for design or whatever).

stumbled upon in the teamtundra/zerkelmotorwerks forum.
Edit: some more...actually the site was a nice find for a daily laugh, though someone posted a link in another topic before i didn't think so then...well the some of the posts over there ARE quite random.

Off-Topic Dunno about the fuss over this in britain...just stumbled upon via a german blog...nothing in the "mainstream" media yet, as far as i'm aware of. Though you're right dave, took a while to discover and publish this "news" (considering it was discovered by accident in '97).

Off-Topic in addition to the cases gav already mentioned, i really adore this one:
it's quite simple ,elegant and has some nice features like the hard drive suspension system already built in. also the price is good imho (about 80-90 euros here in germany iirc) compared to the lian-lis.

Off-Topic among usual suspects (2001 A Space Odyssey, Star Wars, everything with Alien in the title ) Tarkowski's "Solaris" comes to mind. didn't watch Soderbergh's version (the one with Clooney) yet, but as i adore Stanislaw Lem's books, i think i'd like that one as well, though i expect it to be/feel totally different.
then there's also a south korean movie "
