banning testing i think is a great idea!! once the season finishes, testing is banned until the new year. then you can test your new car over say, 20 test days before the season starts. then the friday of a grand prix weekend i think should be made a 'test' day, where teams can run three cars, use whatever drivers and do whatever. should save a shitload of money, and help lesser teams wby gareth - F1
'8 out of 10 teams' aren't happy and recognise the need to lower costs in f1, think renault, bar and jaguar. current costs really are obsecene at the moment. lower costs i believe will help create more competitive racing. and it would also allow other teams into the sport, including both privateers and your factory teams. arden have been making noises about stepping up, there was sby gareth - F1

but f1 tracks aren't like cart ovals- passes would still have to well judged and well executed and on f1 tracks there's more scope for blocking. motogp has tonnes of overtaking and is great- there's always something going on and the order always shiftsby gareth - F1

i couldn't agree more with standardisng some parts in f1- obviously not all though. i reckon having standard engine control software and standard TC is a good start to cut costs and tighten it up a bit. maybe other bits and pieces like brakes or rear wings. also a control tyre i think is essential- or go the other entirely and have more than just two manufacturers.by gareth - F1

i love the 99 stewart- it's so simple and clean, and i just really like the way the tartan ribbons are draped over the car. i think i prefer the 93 williams with the sega sonic the hedge hog ads in front of the side pods- a bit of fun never hurts.by gareth - F1

i don't think a point for pole is a bad thing- someone may go out with a lighter fuel load saturday arvo chasing the point which would put them on a different strategy during the race, opening up all sorts of variables. i like the one lap qualifying format and think it should stay as for a point for the fastest lap, I don't really see the point (bad pun intended)by gareth - F1

what rule changes do you want to see? here's a few i reckon might be good- feel free to shoot me down...... 1. once the season starts ban testing. make friday a test day at the weekend's GP circuit. two sessions, 9-12 and 2-5. teams may run 3 cars, whatever liveries they choose, whatever drivers they choose. teams like mclaren might run Wurz, de la Rosa (does he still test for them??) wby gareth - F1
