great news!

dixon and maybe dc, or one of the 'sons' will finish off 2004 with williams.
probably an early juan-dc swap, with ralf (with the help of willi 'thedealisallbutsigned' weber) signing a 4 year deal with Team Zombolas in the F-56093 series.

Yea Mannings looked good in anything he's tried. Did very well with the Reynard chassis in champ cars last season. Shame he's going round ovals all this year imo.

Manning's switch to IRL was senseless. Honestly, who is going to take notice of you going round in circles unless you happen to be a superstar like Scott Dixon? lol

Williams have had a recent history of bringing new drivers in from outside F1 (Hill, Coulthard, Villeneuve, Zanardi, Button, Montoya) so I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Dixon racing a Williams next year.

But at the expense of Jenson Button? I hope not...

P.S. Something tells me that IRL comment will come back to haunt me :S

BMW will undoubtably want to have a say the driver line up, despite what the media says

would BMW want a rookie F1 driver in one of their powered cars making them look possibly silly? ( sure they might be able to hit the ground running like JV or JPM of they might end up like michael andretti or zanardi)

i'd be suprised if at least one of the drivers at williams next sesason was'nt from an existing F1 team

A rookie making them look silly? Everyone starts their career at Williams these days! It's like the Minardi of the front of the grid! I wonder if one of the drivers they snag from the US will ever be from the US?

Isn't Ralf ready to sign a new 'pay related' deal with Williams now? Or is that more BS from his manager (again)?

Anyways, I reckon the '05 line up 'could' be:

R.Schumacher
S.Dixon

He (Scott) did well to be that close to Ralf. Or it could mean F1 cars are easier to drive these days...

As for Jenson going to Williams. It would be nice, but, so it would be if he could challenge for the championship with BAR. More so, even.

looking a the testing times ... damn that BAR is looking good. as a Villeneuve fan (that JV BAR cap i bought is pretty much useless and an embarssment now) i'm somewhat dissapointed. Button is definetly proving himself despite my long held reservations about him. good for him and i hope he stays with BAR. the atmosphere there seems really good right now and everyone is behind him.

secretly i'm hoping for Dixon/Villeneuve at Williams for 2005 with some young hotshot replacing JV for 2006 ... hey, we can all dream ... can't we??

i really hope button gets the drive

he is on fire at the moment.

i also think their will be 2 seats oopen and webber will not be in a wiliams

webber is contracted to renault, so flavio will want him instead of trulli i am sure at renault.

i think it will be Button and Dixon at wiliams. or button and someone else.

I still think it will be Webber and/or Button, but it's absolutely stupid to make guesses at this early stage of the season. Lets concentrate on 2004 first...

webber is contracted to renault, so flavio will want him instead of trulli i am sure at renault.

i think it works that flav has 2 jobs - renault boss, and manager to webber, alonso, trulli....

so jaguar pay webber, and flav gets a %.
so why have renault pay webber -wouldn't flav rather get jag $$.
he's better off, personally, to get the most money for webber et al, and professionally to get the best drivers.

I'm pretty sure Flav doesn't manage Trulli.

But i'd be surprised if Trulli is moved on from Renault at the end of the year. Ultimately I think Alonso is better than any of the people you are proposing to take Trulli's seat. If you then think about how well Alonso get on as team-mates, truly very good friends, then I'm not sure it'd be wise to upset that & potentially poison a very good atmosphere in the Renault camp. Remember this is a time when Renault need to try and keep Alonso from a post-schumi Ferrari. To upset the equilibrium at an important time as this I don't think would be wise.

Besides it's not as if Trulli is slow either, keeps his team-mate honest and is capable of exceptional performances from time to time. To me they seem the perfect foil for each other.
