I saw time ago that was a hardware emulator available, but I didn´t find it in the downloads area. Is it still available? Where I can download it from? Thanksby katunga - Grand Prix 3
I found that is more usefull to let the game get the better configuration auto. Then you can eliminate mirrors and some more little details. And kill the svchost. exe (network one) unless you´re in a LAN of courseby katunga - Grand Prix 4
Well, for what I see in your screen, the mirrors could be slowing down your GP, along with the resolution wich is 1280x1024 right? Try to low detail in your mirrors. If you can´t sort out the high PO yet, delette your F1config, enter GP4 and calibrate your graphics automatically (3 or 4 times in a row) and see what happens. With this method and a little tweaking from the GP4 menu (not from the coby katunga - Grand Prix 4

...and what is your allocated RAM? I´d rather to buy more RAM (maybe 512 MORE or reach the max amount of RAM supported by your comp) or a faster processor. Your comp will be a blast, not just for GP4. I meant I don´t want to confuss ya, if ya want a better card go for it!by katunga - Grand Prix 4
You have a few options: -Extract the original exe from the cd and place it in the GP4 folder. -place the original disc and chosse the repair option from the installation prompt. - Install again GP4 and all the patches and cars.by katunga - Grand Prix 4
It`s possible in theory, but not in practise. GPXpatch has an option to connect 2 (or more) Gp4`s over the net, but all the tests made have failed. It`s neccesary a super broadband connection, all the GP4`s have to be configured with the same settings, and with all this, a regular broadband can`t handle all the amount of graphics. GP4 was not made for online racing. Maybe GP5, will have this kindby katunga - Grand Prix 4
Main problem is directx. DOS 32 bits modules existsby katunga - Grand Prix 4
Hi: Could be GP4 played on DOS? Imagine the possiblities of not having windows running at the same time...most of audio and video modern drivers are recognized by the DOS too (altough Microsoft argues that DOS is no more supported by windows xp, but still there are some ways to access DOS) I know, GP4 executable doesn´t start under DOS, but should be a way to "make it" DOS executableby katunga - Grand Prix 4
I´m a newbie to all this staff, so maybe my (stupid) question is: what´s the difference between the original cars and custom cars in terms of textures? GP4 performs mostly better with the original cars (lower PO). My thinking was about the hi res textures, but the original carset has them too, so how can it be such difference?by katunga - Grand Prix 4
eclap, you get that figure in race or in free practise?by katunga - Grand Prix 4

Are the original tyres or what tyres are these???by katunga - Grand Prix 4
Well, I did a tactical mistake last sat. I reinstalled, and put the F1config backup in GP4 folder and went straight to test it So, I´ll have to reinstall. Thanks for all your helpby katunga - Grand Prix 4
There´s some thread in the GP3 forum regarding to private leagues, maybe someone is willing to share themby katunga - Grand Prix 4
I reinstalled last saturday It´s something I moved in the config file, maybe. But I´d wish to know what I used to set GP4 very low on graphics to maintain a low PO just for the league and worked very well. Now I wanted more graphs, so I´ve retuned all settings, that´s the story So, there´re a few more solutions I could try: -Incompatible video drivers (I updated the video drivers aboutby katunga - Grand Prix 4
How do you guys use GP4? Use to run championships at home? Or just at leagues? Which is the most used carset configuration on your opinion, just the 2004 cars? Just curious...by katunga - Grand Prix 4
Just a typo should be say: I reinstalled or re-inserted the original car.wad I´m using the GPC (Grand Prix Championship) car wad. It comes with a self-installer that prompts to overwritte the originals, but doesn´t say what "originals", the cars or tracks wad?? Anyway I suppose is just the car wad. So, I reinstalled the original carwads within GP4 folder, but it´s the same thing. So mby katunga - Grand Prix 4
Well, I picked the .dat files and the trackwads again, from the CD and put them in GP4 folder with no result...it´s strange. Just the only possible chance I can think of is checking the card config and something about memory usage in the registryby katunga - Grand Prix 4
Thanks Lo2k I´ll give your suggestion a tryby katunga - Grand Prix 4
Ok, if you checked that both computers were sending and receiving you´re currently connected. For playing GP4 on a LAN just install GP4 on both comps (with both the same settings preferebly) and the server will be able to detect the host auto. Now if you´re not sure that both comps are sharing resources, just make sure that the Microsoft network client is activated (in settings/network) and thatby katunga - Grand Prix 4
Well, I´m still getting this problem in external view, which is going me crazy after I tuned the game for 1024x768. All is ok but this, I tried the config file, the in-game settings, etc. but still can´t solve this. I reinstalled the original carwads from the CD and then the original cars and got the same problem! It seems as one or various lods are missing, but it´s not possible this due to theby katunga - Grand Prix 4

Personally, I think is better GP4 than F1C. I have both, and let me tell ya F1C is crap if you have the "standard" game. It´s very good for the mods and online playing, but unless you have an awesome comp is very laggy on graphics even in offline mode and low detail, which is understable online. My comp is not a rocket (1.8 P IV, 128 RAM, on-board video) and maybe F1C doesn´t run properby katunga - Grand Prix 4
