i read that CM are implementing some new features into the patch, as well as fixing the pitstop and AI bugs

Hope they bloody sort it out otherwise there will be uproar if they waste time on putting new stuff in rather than fixing exsisting stuff

Can you say Il2 Sturmovik?

That is exactly what happened there. Even after the campaign system was replaced with a user mod, that had run for years over several platforms, the single player side of the game was @#$%&, because the AI was daft, bug ridden and seemed to play a completely different game. Even now it isn't fixed.

... and the game became an epic multi-release franchise!

So, practice/qualifying times aren't simulated, are they?

On legend, I was just pounding around Suzuka. Rubens was ahead of me and collided with Hulkenberg in turn 1 (Nico was just leaving the pits). I caught Rubens who had damaged his front wing (1 side was missing), but I couldn't get through. I had the quickest time from earlier in the session.

He was a 2 or 3 tenths in front of me on the road going over the S/F line the following lap and pulled away to around 0.8 to 1.0 seconds maybe over the course of that lap (despite missing half a front wing). I was 0.003 off my PB (which was P1 on the timing remember) on the same lap. I did a few more laps before pitting... According to the timing Rubens best lap was 3.6 seconds off my (still leading) pace. WTF?

This is completely unplayable.

The problem with buying games before you try them, is that you vote with your cash, based on the (mis)information campaign set in motion by a variety of agents that can be very hard to identify properly. When you cannot identify them, you can't see their agenda either. So often, you just vote with your cash, based on the quality of the hype. This in turn creates a very lamentable corporate action -> reward structure.

Ah the start line bug is really bad, half the grid sat there full revs going nowhere :(

Some people I know are just cheating online as well setting up races that favour just them starting at the back putting in tyre wear etc then racing people with low ranks. I have been winning online then raced him and was no where at all after 1 lap realised I needed to pit stop and the race was 8 laps. I think set up a 3 lap race as the normal quick races are and thrashed him on the same track. I suppose it all depends how you want to race etc but I would rather my rank be in line with most online than get a rank of 40 by fixing races.

If they had of done a demo, they would have lost alot of sales, they knew the game was bug ridden hence no demo.

I would not have bought the game if I knew just how bad it'd be.

Just now I got into q3 in my lotus at hungry, saved a set of greens for my final run (other set at 81% due to being used in q2) and after qualifying 10th, it stuck the 81% tyres on even tho I went 3 seconds quicker on the new set Talk about pathetic.

I tried turning on the tyre wear and the car was undriveable even on the 1st lap just no grip at all and no straight line speed. I dont get why its so bad.

So I've got my ps3 back, and had a few goes with it - already i've had a wtf moment.....was in a quick and dirty 3 lap race around suzuka (to jog the memory before the real GP) and I finished 15th with a torro rosso or something, but then had been given a 10 second penalty for whatever reason, so I ended up actually coming last. No big deal, since that seems feasible - but I was miles ahead of 16th place, and it reckoned that the final nine cars behind me finished within 1.2 seconds of each other. Unless they're crossing the finish line in a 3x3 cube formation going 250 km/hr, I wasn't impressed

I bought the game YES I did, unfortunatly. I would have liked to have "tested" it before.
I am enjoying it with ALL its missgivings. I am still a true GP4 fan.
Soon CM will release a improvement patch especially the AI. :?

And some poeple have doen some great modding work already. There is hope... In about a years time it could be like a super modded GP4 but with better graphics (GP5). Crossing my fingers behind my back whilst writing.

I am unsure whether the bugs can be fixed, I think the problem is with the engine.

They have taken the engine used in GRID/DIRT and tried making a simulation out of an engine used to make arcade games.
The flaws with the game can't be changed that much or patched as I feel the game engine is the problem.
