ART Grand Prix Statement

We are sorry to declare that as of today our current team manager 3tec has quit his job at the team which leaves us to find a new person to fill this gap. We are even more delighted to present John Maverick as new team boss of ART Grand Prix. He will start his work immediately and will try to prepare the team best as possible for the upcoming Asia cup, as this will be the first and maybe only real possibility to see the potential of the team before the season start.

Maverick already took his first actions as team boss by confirming Marc Gene and Yuji Ide as current race drivers, but not without announcing already that Mathias Lauda might get his chance in a race cockpit during the season or even in the Asia cup already, if the other two drivers do not bring satisfying results, whereas satisfying means Top 10 finishings.

Even more important is the following: "We are highly interested in a contract with a current F1 team. I personally think, that stability is the most important thing to build up a top team. And this only works if you have support from the big deal teams in F1. Of course Renault would be one possibility as we already loaned their test driver, Marc Gene. But they're definitely not the only option. If a F1 team is interested in a contract with us, we're glad to receive offers from them, the sooner the better. But we will contact F1 teams, too, to estimate our chances.

(I THINK THIS MAKES CLEAR THAT I'M GONNA TAKE THE TEAM :-) )

Great news about the asia series.

We'll have Kobayashi in the 3 car and Lopez in the 4.
Quick question:

Am I right in assuming that like in the F1 manager, pre-season testing doesn't cost the teams anything, but only mid-season testing?

Wait... what... so we have only 3 tests that cost us money, if you want to participate?

That would give me some budget for a testdriver

ART Grand Prix Statement

Today we're very glad to announce that the contract negotiations for a sister team contract with a very successful F1 team are coming to an end. We are very glad that this opportunity occurred and that we were able to come to an agreement. Contract details and the name of our partner team will be revealed soon. Thank you very much for your attention.

Official addition to the latest ART Grand Prix statement

We are delighted to finally announce, that from today on ART Grand Prix will be known as ART Williams.

This comes from a contract we have recently signed with the F1 Williams team. The contract is valid for 1 year (actually 1 season, namely Season 5) and doesn't include any money transfer. It does, however, give both teams the possibility to get their drivers extended driving experience. That means, that our race driver Yuji Ide will get the chance to prove himself as second testdriver of Williams. Furthermore, we have the option to use the services of William's first test driver Bjorn Wirdheim when we think it being necessary.
Of course Williams also has full rights on our testdriver Mathias Lauda, should they be in need of another driver...what is - however - unlikely considering the massive strength they have with Michael Schumacher and Jacques Villeneuve.
Marc Gene, however, as current testdriver for Renault, is totally out of this deal and consequently not an option for any transfer to Williams.

Kobayashi leads Sakhir Practice
This mornings Free Practice in Sakhir saw Kamui Kobayashi set the fastest lap again. Kobayashi was the first to go out and drive. This showed to be a good idea as he set the fastest lap on his first free run on the track. During the remaining 26 minutes of the Practice noone was able to beat the early lap of Kobayashi with Rosberg driving +0.015 seconds slower. iSportInternational also showed a great result, as they finished 3rd and 4th. Further down the field ART Williams who have signed the sister contract with Williams F1 just yesterday, only managed to finish 18th and 19th.

Setup Reward
1. David Price Racing +0.007
2. BCN Competicion +0.012
3. ART Williams +0.057

4. iSport International +0.082
5. Campos Racing +0.115
6. Sauber GP2 +0.121
Williams F1 confirms the deal with ART

"We're happy to have signed a deal with ART for the actual GP2 season. We wish them a good luck for the season:-)"

My GPGSL Career
Sauber GP2

Average result, we hope the qualification will be better for both our drivers
Racing Engineering Statement

Kamui leads the way again
A great opening session to the Asia Cup sees Japanese youngster Kamui Kobayashi take the early spoils to continue his great form from testing.
With just 2 tenths covering the top 10, it'll be the driver who makes the fewest mistakes who will be taking pole in the next session, and Kamui looks well set given his error-free lap today.
We're also pleased with the performance of Jose Maria Lopez, who has shown he is not far off the pace of the team leader.

End of Statement

Reve-san - can you explain a little more how the setup reward works?

A good result from both drivers, and I'm hoping that our qualifying results are even more impressive. Would like to see Carroll a bit more on the pace with Rosberg though.
Campos

We hope to sort Vilanders problems before the qualifying. He hasnt found a good setup, and is really off the pace compared to rather experienced Montagny
Junior Red Bull Racing Statement

We have performed better than the early tests this season, however it looks like it may be a long season ahead. Good to see Wurz in the top 10, and we will be aiming top 10 for qualifying with both drivers.

Estatic with Paffett and Pantano showing, could not ask for more. Good running guys!.
BCN

Great showing from the lads in free practice to be 6th and 8th fastest. It's also a result to pick up the hp reward. The car looks good and hopefully a double points finish is on the cards this weekend!!
Paffett claims Pole in Sakhir
After some good results in the past Gary Paffett now managed to claim his first GP2-Series Fastest Lap and thus resulting the Pole Position for tomorrows Race. Teammate Giorgio Pantano had less luck as he did only manage 16th. Practice "Winner" Kamui Kobayashi meanwhile set the 2nd fastest lap missing the pole by just +0.043 seconds. Coloni Motorsports can´t be lucky at all as both drivers start from the last row tomorrow. Gianmaria Bruni had some problems with traffic while Monfardini said that the car´s setup just isn´t right.

A setup bonus is available every race weekend during Friday free practice. The closer your drivers times the better the reward. The top 3 teams get a 30 driver performance bonus and a 5 bhp boost. Places 4th to 6th get 15 driver performance bonus and 3 bhp boost but it is only for that race weekend. The perfs then return to default ready for the next friday practice session. In order for a team to qualify for the setup reward at least one of their two drivers must post a time.

Example1: Lopez Time (P9): 1:38.047 - Kobayashis Time (P1): 1:37.853 = +0.194
Example2: Lapierres Time (P12): 1:38.089 (+0.235) - Prémats Time (P11): 1:38.081 (+0.228) = +0.007
