In this case could I switch to England for next season?

very possibly but i can't guarentee anything. If we arent carefully we could have people charging in for the remaining big countries, so we may need to get some sort of official entry list sorted out.

I was just thinking, if someone wanted to take say scotland or wales with Great britain already taken, then we could always split it into the individual england, scotland, wales and northern ireland. At the moment the official entry is GB.

It sounds great :)

Maybe we can adjust the boost system too, there is a lot of variance now (1 to 500 points to spend on a session per weekend max). Maybe introduce a Low, Medium and High boost. Were as Low is a boost of 200 points, Medium a boost of 500 points, High a boost of 1000 points.
Then give team a certain amount of boosts for the season (the points will go for qualy and race)
- Low: 6 races
- Medium: 4 races
- High: 3 races
That leaves 4 races with no boost at all. Depending on circuit choice and what other team managers choose there should be a bigger difference allowing more for strategy amongst team managers. Team which use a High boost have a better chance of winning, but when everyone uses High on one and the same round it'll still be equal, thats were the tactics kick in, foreseeing what other managers will be trying to do.

It's still sort of a-like this season just with 3 options for a race instead of 500.

If you are racing, keep on racing and get some points!

Hmmm, I actually like exactly the fact that I'm free to spend as many boost points as I like (up to the max limit of course)...or the fact that I can use different boost points for quali and race. I, personally, wouldn't like to see such a change here.

Not sure whether any of you particularly thought about this, but we will be possibly changing reliability, and will be possibly changing variance from 0. The variance thing is so that its not totally "spend 500, get guaranteed race winning speed". It wouldn't be a big number, we are talking just between 0-100 at the moment. These both aren't guaranteed to happen, and we want your thoughts on what you thing. Have to be careful with both topics, as they could come up against a lot of opposition ;-)

I agree with this. This is why I don't think boosts work in the GPGSL, because you never get a payoff, and there are far too many variables affecting them. I like the fact that I can spend what I want when I want up to the limit.

I like the idea of the perf carrying over and a single car shape. I am really pleased you guys are getting this organised and would be more than happy to throw my name into the melting pot for the position of the other race director. If you would like to see what I have done then I did round 4 of this seasons GPGSL from the Hungaroring.

I must say I don't like the idea of a reverse grid sprint quali thingy, just doesnt appeal, but apart from that everything else seems spot on. Looking forward to season 2.

based on the reaction so far the sprint race idea looks like it definately will not happen, guess i will keep those to myself then ;-)

Well i think that for the most part people like freedom of spending points because with those who are taking a serious interest then it still comes down to did i spend enough to secure a good result. Same thing but with more flexibility

@franko certainly all those who want to run a round will be added to the pot, there are some i know to have run rounds like yourself and paulo who we could trust to run a round. Allthose who peak interest we will discuss what rounds everyone wants to arrange something. It is the unknown quantities we want to be careful of.

Yes what true said we are looking at variance adjustments or anything to encourage people to stay just like how a driver improves a nation could improve

@Ture sorry people did not like the sprint race idea but by all means spoil me with results ;)
Can I change my country for next season? If we're splitting GB into it's constituent nations, I'd like to change Austria for Wales.

I like the idea of 1 carshape and perfs, and I wouldn't mind the sprint race if it was carried out properly...

Yeah sure for changing countries i will split Great Britain. They are not active and we been treating them as england more than GB confusingly for you all i am sure
From the perfs it looks like it wont be the easiest race for me, maybe snatch some points.

And they look correct to me ;-)

well, i guess South Africa already won this one, with 160300 perf points for the race...

Not as much of an advantage as you might think... ;-)

Let's see how it goes. Good luck to all!

-----------------------------------------------------

There was one mistake in the perf made clear when south africa went 4 seconds quicker than everyone;)
Welcome back to the English coverage of the GPG Nations Cup. We are in Malaysia for round 15 and with only three rounds to go and half the field mathematically still in with a shot every place and point is vital. Switzerland’s Maverick has a five point lead at the top though.

We head into qualifying and the first man to set a lap is Carreiro

Beaten very swiftly and comfortably by Zakes

Ward sneaks under Zakes time though

The home man Razak settles into the midfield with his first run

Antunis with a solid 5th and something to build on in his first run

Second in the championship Copeman takes the last points scoring position for now

De Boer makes it onto the second row for now

Vanthoor makes it onto the head of the second row with his first run

A very frantic start has seen all the drivers set a lap and here are the early standings

Maverick will be looking to improve on his current 9th position

Ward is just off improving his own time in the first

Maverick is very close too

Zakes is quicker though

Ward quicker in the second though

While Zakes is fractionally better than Ward at the moment

Ward improves his pole time

Maverick improves to 6th and the third row

Zakes on pole by a matter of fractions

Antunis snatches the 6th place away from Maverick

Vukcevic is going to want to find a little more pace to avoid a midfield scrap in the race

Copeman is struggling

Ward is not going to nick back pole with this run

Urazel is up to 10th

Canada improves... 21st which is not a suprising position for them this season

It has been a dismal day for McGregor

8th for Hunsley

De Boer back on the 2nd row

Tafuro is struggling just like Copeman

Vukcevic creeping up a place at a time

Vanthoor’s lap has been severely hurt by Heart

Standings with many just having one run remaining

Ward’s last run sees our quickest first sector

Carreiro and Jantsher get in eachothers way but it was Carreiro on his hot lap

Ward is faster in the second sector as well

And pole by only 6 thousands of a second but its provisional pole

Carreiro predictably did not improve

Things going no better for McGregor

Malaysia finishes a dismal qualifying for the home fans with 16th

Maverick fails to improve

Xanthis improves to 15th

Whereas De Boer moves up to the front of the second row

Zakes fails to retake pole position in his last run

Antunis back into 5th which is a position he really wants today

Copeman makes it to 12th but that will not help his championship charge

Tafuro nips in ahead of him, not a great day for Maverick’s rivals

Standings with just three men left to go

Great Britain is not going to affect the top half with the first two sectors

And in fact do not improve

Same goes for Stein

But he does creep up a few places to 17th

Urazel also not really showing much

And makes it into the midfield with his last run

Standings with no runs left

And after a frenetic qualifying that was wrapped up very quickly Ward won the battle with Zakes for pole by a slither. Maverick starts ahead of his closest rivals and the especially in form Hunsley

Well 10th place is better than i expected to be honest, and to be fair i can hope for some points from here.
At the top its looking competitive still, loving the closeness.
and nice coverage icky :)
